CHOOSING YOUR SECOND CYCLE PATH 🎓 As school selection approaches, candidates must think carefully about the programme that fits their goals. GES offers a wide range of options across SHS, SHTS and STEM Schools. From Science and Business to Engineering, Robotics and Aviation, there is a path for every interest and career aspiration. Important: Select subjects and programmes that match your strengths and future plans. Speak with your teachers and parents before making your final choices.

Self-Placement If a candidate is not automatically matched to one of their selected schools, CSSPS may allow Self-Placement, where the candidate can choose from schools that still have vacancies.

Candidates are required to: Choose 6 main schools in order of preference. Choose 2 alternative schools. Select preferred programmes (such as General Science, Business, General Arts, Home Economics, Agriculture, Visual Arts, etc.). Indicate whether they prefer Boarding or Day where applicable. Placement Categories A candidate may be: Placed in their 1st choice. Placed in their 2nd–6th choice. Placed in one of their alternative schools if they do not qualify for their main choices.

How CSSPS Works A student’s placement is based on: 1. BECE performance (aggregate and grades). 2. The schools and programmes chosen. 3. The order of school choices. 4. Available vacancies in each school. 5. Residential status (Day or Boarding). 6. Gender requirements where applicable.

It is the computerized system used by the Ghana Education Service to place students who pass the BECE into: * Senior High Schools (SHSs) * STEM Schools * Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions Purpose of CSSPS The system was introduced to: * Ensure fair and transparent placement. * Reduce human interference in admissions. * Match students to schools based on merit and available vacancies.
