Aiôn Runes & Tarot

The very name Dagʀ is something of an attention-stealer: with the frank clarity of the plainly obvious, the rune's name speaks to us of the Sun, the Day, the Light. But, factually if not literally, this is only half of the story. The rune itself does not signify the single pole of Day so much as the entire axis encompassing the twin poles of Day and Night, as suggested by the symmetry of the glyph itself. The refined understanding of the ancient Hellênes expressed in the last forwarded post which spoke of both Eôs and Nyx would not seem so strange or contradictory to the ancient Germans reckoning each Day as beginning with its Eve. Dagʀ, then, stands not only for one major division of time but for a whole loop or cycle. An expectation. A καιρός. A pattern fit for prediction or even for understanding. A balance. A whole. And, ideally, a *right time* - whether for an event, or an idea,...or even for You. "Hail to the Day! Hail to the sons of Day! Hail to Night and her kin!"

I'd like to resume very soon with my occasional complementary notes on various runes and tarot cards. Next I'd like to bring Dagʀ to your attention, but first it may be relevant and enlightening to consider the Hêsiod quote accompanying this depiction of Nyx and Eôs (and Hêlios).

I wanted to write about having a really nice experience with a friend. He did a tarot reading for me about love using the Thoth Tarot. I didn’t have any information beforehand, and honestly I didn’t know what to expect, since it was my first time ever coming across that deck. I won’t go into details because I want to keep some things to myself, but I was really surprised by how accurately he connected certain things in my situation. It wasn’t those general statements that could apply to anyone, but very specific things that actually made sense for me. What stayed with me the most is how he picked up on certain emotions and patterns that I may not have fully put into words for myself, but I recognize them when I hear them. From time to time I find myself questioned, or even reproached with some bitterness, over my attitude towards many of the 'professional influencers' seeking to make a living from 'producing' content to fill up the time of people in the vicinity of our circles. When I have my own questions and reproaches in turn to offer these consumers, the typical redoubt-emotion 'bedded down into' tends in the sentimental direction of 'at least they're doing something!' And what's very true is that different calibers of people hold different criteria for what merits recognition as 'doing something'. Some, for instance, are appeased with appearances for their own sake or - slightly better - comforted by activity for its own sake. This gives them a feeling of participation, a sense of belonging, someone or something to have faith in and to follow. There's not really much I can say to this larger group of people, because behind our words we are functionally speaking different languages, meaning entirely different things when we try to speak of 'what is good'. This type of person does not actually CARE about 'what is true/authentic/real', much less what is efficacious as long term strategy. All they really feel the need for is to be REASSURED: that they belong in a group, that they are correct and effective by virtue of accepting a set of beliefs, that they are 'doing something'. But what of the other type of people, Esteemed Readers? What of those who DO seek that which is genuine, true, efficacious? I can only hope that you're able to find what I have over years and years: that the most genuine and worthwhile people, those most truly worth learning from, are NOT those called by Nietzsche 'Schauspieler' (play-actors) when discussing their audience, 'the Flies of the Marketplace'. Don't settle for appearances, pretensions, frauds. There are those out there worth learning from and growing with: they're just not selling themselves in the marketplace. They're quietly doing the work of their own lives so that they're qualified to help you in the first place! 卍 What Our Folk needs in order to TRULY correct its course through history is not the soothing reassurance that spinning our wheels in participatory activity is 'doing SOMETHING' - it is genuinely, over consecutive generations, recultivating our substance and our capacity to do the RIGHT things which will truly matter. 卐 And this not for sale in the marketplace. As Nietzsche, so diligent and (mostly) hidden in his day, so wonderfully put it in his own hard-won style:

1/6 The following communication with the jǫtunn-goddess Skaði differs from the previous shared communications in a few respects. First, the style is noticeably more terse, almost laconic. This could be due to the nature and personality of the goddess, or perhaps due to my energetically aligning with the more Æsiric-type spirits, whereas Skaði married into the Ꝩanir from an original jǫtunn heritage. At any rate, she'll be found to elaborate much less than any of the other spirits 'interviewed' for this channel so far, even Aušrinė who was distant in a different way while still giving the impression of much to read between the lines. Skaði seems, for now at least, to answer much more literally. Her answer to the second question about the nature of the jǫtnar gave some interesting visual/emotional impressions that were difficult to communicate in her more literally minimalistic style. The core of this would seem to be an idea of the jǫtnar as very much within or even to some degree embodying the Natural Order, even though right after this she speaks of 'being a law unto themselves'. What I think I get from this is a kind of personal and individual (perhaps we could say 'autarkhic') power that comes from aligning/harmonizing with Natural Law and being a kind of bastion or exemplar of Nature raised to a (super?)human level of consciousness. It also came through to me *very* clearly that when Skaði said "this world" she definitively meant the physical world (with its associated spiritual layers, but still all anchored around the physical realm in a way that's much different from the spirits I normally interact with in this way). I might *speculate* based on my experience of the runes that her statement there is specifically representative of the 'ice giants', but that is only speculation at this time. In the question about Loki I used an exclamation mark in dictation: this was strictly to convey the impression of the heavy forcefulness behind the statement. It still did not feel really emotional in the same way that we humans would often read a sentence like that. Her mien was much more COLD than that, and seemed like a rightful consequence of Nature like a glacier or avalanche rather than an emotional reaction the way we would recognize it. In the final question, the exclamation mark was similarly forceful but more approaching something familiar: it was a sense of triumph from exertion in the invigourating cold air. From kings to farmers our people have always sought divine guidance from certain men and women within and sometimes on the edges of society. We would seek this guidance, which could be gained through the casting of runes, watching the flight of birds, or studying the entrails of slaughtered animals. The methods were endless. I received a rune casting, and it was an impressive reading. Both the runes cast and the interpretation of how they work together and apply specifically to me were quite profound. This man is a true diviner who can see across space and time and pierce the core of a man he's never met and doesn't even know the name or face of. This wasn't just some basic psychic reading that happened to be true in some vague or general sense. The very specifics of how I present my self to the public, the key issues I struggle with behind the scenes and the conflicts between my primary goals and what I desire as well as the solution to my personal struggles were all laid bare. The only way he could have provided any more of a specifically accurate understanding of what the runes meant in the casting as they relate to me would be to fill him in on every detail of my life and outline my exact mission and the objectives being completed to see a fulfillment of said mission.
