Detectives have linked the killing of PCEA cleric Reverend Julius Ndumia Ngari in Nakuru North Sub-County to a violent armed gang, with DCI saying the group is also tied to a May 1, 2026 robbery in which Ksh 600,000 was siphoned from a victim’s bank account to mobile numbers linked to the suspects, and investigators further stating the gang uses an LIAi firearm recovered in 2024 while operating in security forces uniforms. Two suspects, Beryl Nafula Otenyo and Felix Odinga Okumu, are being held for 21 days as detectives probe the May 3 church attack at PCEA Tabuga Church in which the cleric was killed and a watchman injured, with police saying the assailants broke into the church offices and residence and stole valuables. Police further say the suspects were later captured on CCTV withdrawing money from the deceased’s mobile accounts, with efforts ongoing to trace at least three other suspects linked to the attack.
