“For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” John 5:26-29 KJV

Happy Sabbath, God First Family!🕊️ When I started the God First channel, my mission was simple: to encourage people to read Scripture for themselves. I never wanted anyone to trust what another person taught without first searching God's Word. My desire has always been to encourage others to seek the truth and develop a personal relationship with the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ, our only Mediator. As many of you know, my life is very full. I spend much of my time serving God by spreading the Gospel, encouraging and helping those in need while fulfilling my responsibilities at home. Through it all, I continue to study, write, and deepen my understanding of God's Word. Over the years, I have watched many teachers simply repeat what they have heard rather than diligently seeking what God is actually saying in Scripture. As a result, many people repeat those same teachings without ever examining them for themselves. This is how traditions and false teachings continue for generations. It is heartbreaking to see so many people confused, discouraged, and misled, turning away from God. Whether it is the doctrine of an eternally burning hell, the Sabbath, or other long-held traditions, we should never accept a teaching simply because it has been passed down or widely believed. God's Word, not tradition, must always be our authority. Speaking God's truth, His actual Word, should always come first. Acts 17:11 gives us the example of the Bereans. They did not blindly accept Paul's and Silas' teaching. Instead, they searched the Scriptures daily to see whether what they were hearing was true. That should be the example for every believer. Every teaching, sermon, and doctrine should be tested against Scripture. Sadly, I see the opposite happening today. Too many present themselves as all-knowing pastors rather than humble servants of the Most High God through Christ. Being ordained by a denomination or recognized by a government does not mean someone has been ordained by God. Scripture reminds us that many religious leaders in Jesus' day failed to recognize the very Messiah they claimed to be waiting for because they were blinded by tradition and pride. Jesus gave us the standard in Matthew 7:20: "By their fruits you will know them." He then warns that not everyone who says, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of His Father. Many will point to their ministries, miracles, and works done in His name, yet Jesus will say, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness" Matthew 7:21–23. Their titles, popularity, education, and influence did not prove they belonged to Him. Their obedience, or lack of it, revealed whether they truly knew Christ. Jesus gives a similar warning in Luke 13:25–27. Once the Master of the house has shut the door, many will plead to be let in, claiming they knew Him. Yet He will answer, "I do not know where you come from. Depart from Me." Simply claiming Christ or having a public ministry is not enough. We must truly know Him, obey Him, and bear the fruit of a life transformed by Him. This is why I started God First, not to create another platform where opinions are repeated, but to encourage people to open their Bibles and search the Scriptures for themselves. Because of this, and because I have watched people come to God First simply to build personal followings or repeat what others teach without careful study, I have decided to slow down posting on the channel for a season. God's Word was never given for us to reshape to fit our opinions. It was given to transform us. We must test all things, rightly divide the Word of Truth, and humbly submit to what God has actually said, not what tradition, popularity, or personalities tell us to believe. My prayer remains the same as it has always been: that each of us would seek God first, search His Word diligently, and allow Scripture, not man, to be our final authority. Happy Sabbath, everyone! ~Renee, a servant of the Most High God through Jesus Christ🕊️

Luke 12 (Continued) 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; 36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. 38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. 41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all? 42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. 45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. 49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? 57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? 58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. 59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
Why We Should Read Scripture for Ourselves Why should we read the Bible for ourselves? Why not simply go to church, listen to the pastor, and trust them to tell us what Scripture says and means? Because our relationship with the Father is personal. Schooling, degrees, titles, or religious positions cannot equip someone for a personal relationship with God. That relationship comes through seeking Him, through His Word and through His Son, Jesus Christ. We must read, learn, pray, and seek to know His truth for ourselves. Acts 17:11 gives us a beautiful example. When Paul and Silas taught the Bereans, they did not blindly accept what they heard even from Paul. "They received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." If the Bereans searched the Scriptures to verify what Paul was teaching, shouldn't we do the same? History reminds us that generations of people depended on religious leaders because they could not read Scripture for themselves. Even today, many hear what a pastor says and accept it without ever opening the Bible to see whether it is actually true. Think about cursive writing. For generations, people learned it because it was necessary. Today, many consider it irrelevant. But what happens when we encounter historical letters, documents, or records written in cursive? If we stop learning how to read it, eventually we may lose the ability to understand what was written before us. The same principle applies to Scripture. We should never become so dependent on someone else to read and interpret God's Word for us that we lose the ability or the desire to search it for ourselves. Paul told Timothy, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15. And Jesus said, "Search the scriptures." John 5:39. Some discount Scripture because it was translated by men. But before we dismiss God's Word, shouldn't we actually read it, study it, and test what it says? Throughout history, Scripture has been compared with archaeological discoveries and historical evidence in ways that continue to give people reason to examine it seriously. And beyond history, there are people today who sincerely call upon God and experience His guidance, protection, correction, and the moving of His Spirit in their lives. These experiences should not replace Scripture, but they can encourage us to seek Him rather than dismiss Him without ever searching. My mother always told me, "Memorize your Bible, because there may come a time when you don't have one to read." That stayed with me. We don't know what the future holds. But we do know that God's Word is too important to leave entirely in someone else's hands. Read. Learn. Pray. Repent. Fast. Seek. Don't simply accept what someone tells you God said. Go to His Word and seek Him personally through Christ. Jesus gave us this promise: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:7–8. If you genuinely seek God, don't be afraid to ask Him to reveal His truth to you. Search the Scriptures. Pray over what you read. Be willing to repent when you discover you were wrong. Fast. Keep seeking. Don't just know what someone says the Bible says. Know what the Bible says for yourself. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Psalm 119:105. Happy Sabbath, everyone! ~Renee
