You have cleared both CSE and IFoS Prelims. Should you prepare for IFoS or CSE? Case 1: You have one optional common with CSE Simple answer is - No. As of now just focus on CSE. You'll get around 80 days exclusively for IFoS post CSE. That's more than enough to prepare the optional (most probably Forestry) Start you preparation starting Sept 1. It's our responsibility to help you ace Geology/Forestry optionals Case 2A: No common optional + first mains Case 2B: No common optional + 2/3/4th mains but no Interview call Prepare for IFoS. IFoS is a relatively easier exam to crack. 4 months are enough to ace IFoS. Many candidates fail to get an interview call but crack IFoS easily. Secure IFoS job. Take 1-2 years extension to join and crack IAS/IPS with peace of mind. No point in targeting other services. Case 3A: No common optional + Appeared in interview earlier Case 3B: No common optional + Selected in allied services Difficult choice but we would suggest you to focus on CSE for now.
