Microsoft has appointed Nati Amsterdam as General Manager of Microsoft Israel, bringing in a longtime Nvidia executive to lead the company’s sales and marketing operations in the country. Amsterdam spent nearly a decade at Nvidia, where he helped establish and grow its Israeli operations and most recently served as Senior Country Director. He previously led VMware Israel and has nearly three decades of experience in the technology industry. American tourists are slowly returning to Israel, offering signs of life for a tourism industry battered by years of war and instability, according to The Wall Street Journal. Israel welcomed 32,500 Americans in June, up 73% from the same month last year, followed by 36,600 in July, a 15% increase. U.S. visitors accounted for one-third of all tourists entering Israel in July. But tourism remains far below normal levels. Colombia’s richest family, led by Jewish billionaire Jaime Gilinski, has announced a $48 million donation to help rebuild Cali following the devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake. The 150 billion Colombian peso contribution will go toward repairing and rebuilding hospitals and schools in the city, one of the areas hardest hit by the disaster. President Abelardo de la Espriella announced the donation after speaking with Gilinski, whose fortune is estimated at $14.7 billion. A senior Iranian official told Reuters: "Iran has decided to shift its policy from defensive to 'completely offensive.' A man in his 20s has been arrested over the alleged vandalism of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Jaffa, Tel Aviv.
