The IDF’s 401st Armored Brigade has meanwhile completed more than eight months of operations in southern Lebanon and is returning to the southern sector. According to the IDF, the brigade destroyed more than 1,200 Hezbollah terrorist infrastructures, seized over 600 weapons and eliminated more than 60 terrorists. Operating across mountainous and complex terrain, the brigade seized tactical positions and conducted targeted raids that uncovered weapons stockpiles, combat compounds and numerous underground routes. Forces also seized a military site enabling entry into Rshaf, where tunnels, shafts, anti-tank missiles, weapons caches and other terrorist infrastructure were destroyed. The brigade said it adapted methods developed during two years of combat in Gaza to Lebanese terrain, including expanded use of advanced robotics to disrupt and destroy enemy infrastructure before manned forces entered. Brigade fighters and commanders were killed and others wounded during the fighting. The brigade is returning south with operational experience and technological capabilities accumulated in both Gaza and Lebanon. ⚠️ IRAN WARNS AGAINST SYRIAN ACTION AGAINST HEZBOLLAH: Iran has reportedly sent messages to Syria through Turkey warning against implementation of a military scenario, reportedly being prepared with U.S. encouragement, under which Syrian forces would intervene against Hezbollah in Lebanon. According to Lebanese outlet UNews, Tehran informed Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iraq that Syrian intervention against Hezbollah would trigger a broader regional confrontation on Syrian territory. Iran warned that its missile response would include strikes against more than 100 strategic sites in Syria, including the Syrian Presidential Palace. ⚓ U.S. CARRIER ROTATION: The United States is sending the USS George Washington to the Middle East to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln, which has been deployed for more than 250 days. According to The Wall Street Journal, the rotation comes amid concerns over conditions aboard the Lincoln, including supply shortages, exhaustion and deteriorating sailor mental health. 🛰️ CENTCOM EXPANDS ATTACK-DRONE OPERATIONS: U.S. Central Command announced efforts to establish Task Force Falcon Strike, described as the first multi-domain, multinational attack-drone task force. The formation is intended to employ one-way attack drones and unmanned systems operating above, on and below the sea with U.S. military personnel and regional partners. The initiative follows the establishment nine months ago of Task Force Scorpion Strike, the U.S. military’s first dedicated one-way attack-drone squadron in the Middle East. The ministry said the shipments are intended to maintain a continuous supply of vehicles, munitions and equipment and support IDF readiness for all scenarios in both the short and long term. 📍 QUSRA, JALUD AND NORTHERN SAMARIA: Security forces dismantled two illegal outposts in Area B on the outskirts of Qusra and Jalud overnight, confiscating equipment and detaining one Israeli. Following a situational assessment, troops from the IDF’s 51st Battalion were deployed for defensive missions and patrols, with forces positioned in the Qusra area to protect residents and maintain security. Qusra residents were instructed to remain in their homes, while soldiers were directed not to enter the Palestinian family home near the site where a tent had been evacuated and dismantled. Civil Administration liaison officers remain in contact with local leadership to minimize disruption to residents. The troops opened fire to remove the threat, and a hit was identified. In Khan Yunis, the IDF carried out an airstrike against a company commander in Hamas’s military wing who, according to the military, was planning attacks against Israeli troops. Gazan media reported one person killed in an Israeli strike targeting a motorcycle in the area. In Gaza City, the IDF, directed by the Shin Bet, eliminated Hamas commander Jamal Mahmoud Abu Kamil, who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 Massacre. Haimson, born in Romania in 1930, was deported by the British to Cyprus while attempting to immigrate after World War II and was shot and killed by camp guards while attempting to escape on September 29-30, 1948. His remains were among 163 transferred from Cyprus to Israel in 1970, around 120 of them unidentified, and reburied in Haifa. An IDF investigation launched in 2023 examined international archives, testimony, historical photographs and archaeological surveys before identifying the grave.
