  • I'm currently in Jamaica starting up the project here with the first team currently out roofing a home. The lady there had been 6 months with half a roof and in an area where it rains almost every day!

Jamaica Rebuild 🇯🇲 Well today marks 200 days since Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as the island's strongest hurricane on record! The effects of that continue to this day with many of the 24,000 destroyed homes and 120,000 damaged roofs still waiting for repair. As the rainy season approaches, the need becomes even more urgent for secure roofs for those without adequate shelter. After a successful emergency response last year, PCCR is teaming up with Jamaica Relief Ministries once again to help fill that gap. A small team has arrived on the ground and will be rebuilding homes and repairing roofs that JRM has identified as priority needs. With most of the building materials kindly supplied by them, we'll be fundraising to provide the logistics around bringing in teams needed to complete the rebuilding. Thank you for standing with us and the people of Jamaica, as we continue what we started in the initial response last year. • Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been able to spend most of this year at home catching up on projects and getting a bit of a break. Tomorrow myself and a good friend are flying to Eastern Turkey and will be attempting to cross into Syria. We hope to spend a few days there and travel south into Jordan. Along the way we will connect with various local contacts we had visited last year. With the uncertainty in the region and the Iran & Israel wars continuing we may likely face various issues including flight cancellations. Prayers appreciated! https://givesendgo.com/MiddleEastSupport

  • Hard to believe it's been 4 years already!! 4 years of constant fighting along the 1,200km front, and 4 years of missile and drone attacks across the whole country! So many millions have been affected, and the true number of deaths might never be known. My heart aches for the people suffering on both sides of this conflict 😭 I've spent about 1½ years serving there and Ukraine will always have a special place in my heart. I'm encouraged by the current team's love and passion for the people. Not many volunteers have poured into the locals and learnt the language as they have! Please continue to pray that they can stay strong while living in constant danger. 🙏🏽

We Remember: Morocco, 2023 First 6 photos: September - November, 2023 Last three photos: January 2026 Today marks 871 days since the 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Morocco's High Atlas Mountains in September 2023. Within seconds, 19,000 homes were destroyed, and almost 3,000 people lost their lives. My team and I were deployed, arriving within 72 hours of the earthquake. We started what became a 14-week deployment. Joining forces with local believers, a handful of PCCR trainees, together with other volunteers, were able to build 569 insulated shelters across 23 villages. In many of these villages, conversations came up as the Muslim people tried to understand how volunteers from around the world were coming together in harmony and loving on them in this way! Responding to their questions, we were able to share with them Christ's love on multiple occasions. Over our time there, numerous relationships were built that continue to this day. Village leaders still reach out to wish me a Happy New Year or simply ask how I'm doing. They send me pictures showing some of the shelters still standing strong against the elements, the thick insulation shielding families from the winter snows. As they go through their third winter, many hope this season will be the one they can finally rebuild their homes as they continue to restore their lives. We are blessed to have local partners continuing to nurture the seeds that were sown almost 2½ years ago! Since Morocco, I've been in 10 other disasters, but the Berber people living in the mountains of Morocco will always hold a special place in my heart. -John Heinzel, International Field Director
