The Power of People On August 6, 2014, at around 8:50 a.m., something remarkable happened at Stirling Station in Perth, Australia — a moment that showed what people can achieve when they act together. A man boarding a train slipped, and his leg became trapped between the carriage and the edge of the platform. Attempts to free him were unsuccessful. Then the station staff and passengers did something extraordinary. Around 50 complete strangers lined up alongside the carriage and pushed against the train together. The carriage shifted on its suspension by only a few centimetres — but it was enough to free the trapped man. It did not take a hero. It took many people who, at the same moment, simply decided to help. That morning in Perth, they moved more than a train.
