  • Hi everyone! 👋 We’re inviting seniors from the SG Assist community to share their Kampung Stories with us. 🏡❤️ We’re putting together a nostalgic and meaningful social media carousel featuring memories from our senior community, reflecting on the kampung spirit of care, connection and looking out for one another. Your story could be about: • Neighbours helping one another • Sharing food or looking after each other’s children • Childhood games and school days • Community celebrations • Caring for family members • A memorable neighbour or person from the community • A moment when people came together during difficult times The idea is not just to look back at the past. We want to reflect on how these values are still relevant today, especially as we think about ageing, caregiving and building a more caring community. Selected stories may be featured on SG Assist’s social media platforms. If you have a memory you’d like to share, submit it here: 👉 https://form.jotform.com/GTA_gta/-kampung-stories Old photos are welcome too, but they’re completely optional. Thank you for helping us keep these stories and the kampung spirit alive. ❤️

  • 61 years. 61 facts. One little red dot with a very big story. 🇸🇬 From heartlands and hawker centres to kampung spirit and the people who quietly show up for one another, Singapore has always been shaped by more than landmarks. “A nation is built in the everyday ways we care.” And perhaps that is what Go Beyond can mean too. Beyond celebration, there is care. Beyond independence, there is interdependence. Beyond “someone should help”, there is “I can help.” For caregivers, seniors and families, that can look like checking in, lending a hand, sharing the load or simply making sure no one feels alone. Because the Singapore we hope to become is built in small acts, repeated by many hands. ❤️ So… how many of the 61 facts did you actually get right? 👀 Happy 61st Birthday, Singapore. Majulah Singapura. Go Beyond, together. 🇸🇬 FB https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1FCpJW8Utg/?mibextid=wwXIfr IG https://www.instagram.com/p/Db8P00dgbte/?igsh=dG01YWRtM3E0azU5 TT https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS4KJVCNx/ LI https://www.linkedin.com/posts/61-years-61-facts-one-little-red-dot-with-ugcPost-7493293915337494528--zuL/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios&rcm=ACoAAEuoZ6YBiWsPcze-gl_bYyZlCBMKEc-jBx8

  • This National Day, we asked the SG Assist team one question: what are your hopes for Singapore? 🇸🇬 To each their own, National Day goes beyond the celebrations, fireworks and familiar songs. It is also a chance to reflect on the kind of Singapore we hope to keep building together. Across the team, everyone had their own hopes and dreams for our future. Some spoke about a more inclusive society, where people from different backgrounds and generations feel seen and valued. Others hoped for a more caring Singapore, where looking out for a neighbour, supporting a caregiver or lending a hand to someone in need becomes second nature. Even though all of us had different answers, we all had a common thread... We want a Singapore where no one has to navigate life alone. As our population ages and more of us step into caregiving roles, that sense of community will matter even more. Caregiving cannot rest on one person or one family. It takes neighbours, workplaces, communities and all of us choosing to show up for one another. This National Day, our hope is simple: that we continue building a Singapore where care is shared, inclusion is lived, and everyone has someone to turn to. ❤️🤍 Happy National Day, Singapore! 🇸🇬 FB https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1PQnCjtL3N/?mibextid=wwXIfr IG https://www.instagram.com/p/DbzvuWGAXpy/?igsh=MTZyMHI2cTVqYWh2Zw== TT https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS4sSu1j4/ LI https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sgassist_this-national-day-we-asked-the-sg-assist-activity-7492097948969992192-OWj6?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios&rcm=ACoAAEuoZ6YBiWsPcze-gl_bYyZlCBMKEc-jBx8

  • A truly meaningful evening at An Extra•Ordinary Celebration 2026! 💜 Our Co-Founders, Adrian Tan and Greg Tan, were honoured to attend this inclusive concert by Extra•Ordinary People and witness the incredible talents of performers from special education schools, mainstream schools and the wider community. They also had the privilege of meeting Madam Halimah Yacob, a strong advocate for caregivers, inclusion and building a more compassionate society. Her continued support for caregiving closely reflects SG Assist’s belief that caregivers should be seen, supported and empowered throughout their journey. Behind every performance was a community of teachers, trainers, caregivers, volunteers, partners and production teams working together with patience, kindness and heart. It was a beautiful reminder that inclusion is not simply about providing opportunities. It is about creating spaces where everyone feels valued, celebrated and able to belong. Thank you, Extra•Ordinary People, for inviting SG Assist to be part of this special celebration. Congratulations to all the performers and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the concert possible. 👏 Extra•Ordinary People continues to create opportunities for persons with special needs through its programmes and initiatives. Please consider supporting their fundraising efforts and helping them continue this meaningful work. ❤️ Donate here: https://bit.ly/4wDddT3 FB https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DMhHuSuYg/?mibextid=wwXIfr IG https://www.instagram.com/p/Dbk3KRUgb3y/?igsh=MXd5ZmU5dGVydHpldA== TT https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS4yfdpme/ LI https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sgassist_a-truly-meaningful-evening-at-an-extraordinary-activity-7490003080755945475-Kci2?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios&rcm=ACoAAEuoZ6YBiWsPcze-gl_bYyZlCBMKEc-jBx8

  • The SG Assist team recently visited Tech Able at Enabling Village... In some ways, Tech Able reminded us of our own Age+ Living Lab, but with a much stronger focus on technology and assistive solutions for persons with disabilities (PwDs), including people with sensory, physical and communication needs. From smart eye-tracking technologies to specially designed keyboards that are visually beneficial, we got to see how the right technology can help someone navigate daily life with greater independence and confidence. 👩‍🦽📱🏠 What was especially interesting to us was looking at these solutions through a caregiving and ageing lens. While many of the technologies are designed with PwDs in mind, some of the ideas and solutions could also be relevant for seniors experiencing changes in mobility, vision, hearing or dexterity. Accessibility, after all, can benefit many of us at different stages of life. And for caregivers, sometimes the right tool does more than make a task easier. It can enable the person they care for to do more independently, while potentially reducing some of the physical or practical demands on the caregiver too. 💙 Our biggest takeaway? Assistive technology doesn't always have a single target audience. Anyone can benefit from it from the way they choose to use it. Thank you Tech Able for giving us the opportunity to share your space! 🙌 FB https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Hxp9GxTLG/?mibextid=wwXIfr IG https://www.instagram.com/reel/Dbc2OvlhiDB/?igsh=d21uMDNqNmJ1ajR6 TT https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS46tWAvY/ LI https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sgassist_the-sg-assist-team-recently-visited-tech-activity-7488876745597579264-XJA9?utm_medium=ios_app&rcm=ACoAAEuoZ6YBiWsPcze-gl_bYyZlCBMKEc-jBx8&utm_source=social_share_video_v2&utm_campaign=copy_link

  • Have you ever came across any products that have made everyday life easier for you or someone you care for? 💙 You don’t always have to spend a fortune to make life a little easier... We stopped by DAISO to see if we could find assistive products similar to those featured in our Age+ Living Lab. We were surprised by how these items could potentially support persons with disabilities (PwDs), seniors, caregivers, and even anyone looking for a more convenient way to go about their day. From improving grip strength and organising medication to reducing strain and making everyday tasks more manageable, these simple products remind us that accessibility doesn’t always have to come with a hefty price tag. Of course, not every product will suit everyone’s needs. Every individual is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. We encourage everyone to consider their own circumstances and consult healthcare professionals where necessary. What stood out most to us was this: Independence isn’t always about doing everything alone. Sometimes, it’s about having the right tools that make everyday tasks just a little easier. For many persons with disabilities and seniors, being able to complete a task independently can preserve confidence, dignity, and a sense of control over their own lives. And when someone is empowered to do more on their own, caregivers benefit too. It can reduce physical strain, provide greater peace of mind, and allow caregivers to focus their energy on the moments that truly require their support. Caregiving is not about doing everything for someone. It is also about creating opportunities for our loved ones to continue doing what they can, safely and confidently. This is why we are always excited to share practical, accessible finds like these. Building a more inclusive community is not only about designing bigger systems or expensive solutions. Sometimes, it begins with discovering simple tools that help people live with greater dignity, independence, and confidence. We’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments~ 💙 FB https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1DfHrYEmZ6/?mibextid=wwXIfr IG https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbAsyaGh7ie/?igsh=MWY4MzI0bWJoOTJ3Yw== TT https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSXCND95L/ LI https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sgassist_have-you-ever-came-across-any-products-that-activity-7484915370483679232-cPoz?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios&rcm=ACoAAEuoZ6YBiWsPcze-gl_bYyZlCBMKEc-jBx8

  • It was wonderful to host Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade & Industry, Gan Siow Huang, MP for Marymount, at Khatib this week! 🏡 For those who don't know: this is Singapore's first Community-based Caregiver Resource Centre, located in Nee Soon South, Singapore's first dementia-friendly estate 🧠💙. We've also partnered with SUSS since 2024 to launch the Age+ Living Lab. A great exchange of thoughts and sharing with People's Association, Allkin Singapore, Mindfull Community, PCF Sparkle Care, and our grassroots volunteers 🙌 — how we can explore more ways to support the Marymount Constituency. Although there were a couple of light-hearted moments along the way 😄, we dove deeper into understanding how to better serve the community and explored what more can be done for caregiving, ageing, and volunteerism. We're heartened by their visit and looking forward to more opportunities to share and explore partnerships ahead 🌱 Thank you, Minsiter Gan, for initiating this visit! 🙏 FB https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BVP765ZDQ/?mibextid=wwXIfr IG https://www.instagram.com/p/Da5LNzzgYex/?igsh=cGF5ZGgxZzVwazJs TT https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSXPanDhn/ LI https://www.linkedin.com/posts/it-was-wonderful-to-host-minister-of-state-ugcPost-7483858484401434624--srQ/?utm_source=social_share_send&utm_medium=ios_app&rcm=ACoAAEuoZ6YBiWsPcze-gl_bYyZlCBMKEc-jBx8&utm_campaign=copy_link

  • I spent 24 hours in a wheelchair... I took on this challenge to better understand some of the everyday barriers faced by persons with disabilities. Even though it was only one day, and I know it cannot fully reflect the lived experience of someone who navigates these challenges every day, it still taught me so much. Leaving the house took more planning. Reaching for everyday objects required more effort. Commuting meant waiting, adjusting, and sometimes depending on others for help. The experience reminded me how easily we take mobility and independence for granted. It also made me think deeply about caregivers. For many persons with disabilities, caregivers are not simply there to assist with tasks. They are the sole partner right by their side everyday. They provide reassurance, confidence, safety, and the freedom to continue participating in everyday life. Caregiving is more than a job, role, or commitment. It is a responsibility built on patience, trust, and presence. The support a caregiver gives can change how a care recipient moves through the world, and how much independence they are able to hold on to. This was especially highlighted when i was participating in this challenge with a friend by my side to take on a caregiver role. This challenge gave me a greater appreciation for persons with disabilities, and for the caregivers who stand beside them every day.💪 Their support does not just make life easier. It can change a life.💙 FB https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1ETLrNM94J/?mibextid=wwXIfr IG https://www.instagram.com/p/Da2UMy4Ac6i/?igsh=d2Jlang3MnpuNmhn TT https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSXD7gYCd/ LI https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sgassist_i-spent-24-hours-in-a-wheelchair-i-took-activity-7483452454630629377-t4ZZ?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios&rcm=ACoAAEuoZ6YBiWsPcze-gl_bYyZlCBMKEc-jBx8
