KUSHNER TO MEET NETANYAHU TO REVISE HAMAS DISARMAMENT PLAN Jared Kushner is reportedly set to visit Israel next week with Gaza envoy Nikolay Mladenov to meet PM Benjamin Netanyahu and push the Board of Peace’s plan to disarm Hamas. Netanyahu originally accepted the 20-point plan. When revised into a 15-point plan, he did not accept the revised version — particularly provisions calling for a gradual IDF withdrawal from Gaza while Hamas is conditioned to fully disarm. Hamas accepted the revised US-backed proposal two weeks ago. U.S. GAS AND DIESEL PRICES HIT RECORD MID-AUGUST HIGHS The average price of regular gasoline in the U.S. has reached $4.03 per gallon, a record for this time of year, while diesel has climbed to $5.40 per gallon. According to GasBuddy, gasoline has never averaged above $4 after August 12. A year ago, gas averaged $3.20 and diesel $3.70. Gas prices have now stayed at or above $4 for 103 days, the highest share of the year since 2022. Authorities still forecast an average 2026 gasoline price of $3.78 per gallon, while Brent crude is expected to average $85 per barrel in Q3 before declining in 2027.
