Since January, Thoughtworks Germany, a global software consultancy, has motioned to fire Works Council members Olesya, Mohamed, and Charlotte. Three terminations in three months. Mohamed was suspended without pay since April. The reasons for termination vary: GDPR, commentary on weapons industry and U.S. war crimes, Palestine solidarity in another. The common theme is retaliation against tech workers organizing in their workplace. On 27 May, the Berlin Labour Court holds the first hearing in Olesya's case. These cases will decide whether companies in Germany can fire Works Council members for speaking up. Show up. Repost Instagram. Bring a sign. Stand with Olesya, Mohamed, and Charlotte.
