  • 26 сент. 2024 г.🔆Sea of Japan In news? ✅In a bold display of maritime prowess, Russia and China have launched extensive naval exercises in the Sea of Japan. 📍Sea of Japan: ✅It is a marginal sea of the western Pacific Ocean. ✅It is bounded by Russiaand Sakhalin Island in the north, by North Korea in the west, South Korea in the southwest, and by the Japanese archipelago (Hokkaidō, Honshū, and Kyūshū islands) in the east and south. ✅Its area is 377,600 square miles (978,000 sq.km). ✅It is connected with the East China Sea in the south via the Tsushima and Korea straits and with the Okhotsk Sea in the north by the La Perouse and Tatar straits. ✅In the east, it is connected with the Inland Sea of Japan via the Kanmon Strait and the Pacific Ocean by the Tsugaru Strait. ✅The average depth is 1,667 meters. ✅Dohoku Seamount, an underwater volcano, is its deepest point. ✅Its relatively warm waters contribute greatly to the mild climate of Japan. #mapping0,15%

It will connect Lahaul Valley in Himachal Pradesh to Zanskar Valley in Ladakh. ◾️Length: Approximately 4.1 kilometers. ◾️Significance: It will become the longest high-altitude highway tunnel in the world, surpassing existing records. ◾️Construction: BRO will undertake the construction of the tunnel at a cost of Rs. 1,681.5 crores. ◾️Connectivity: Provide all-weather road connectivity to Ladakh, serving as the shortest route to the border areas of the region. ◾️Strategic Importance: It will streamline transportation of heavy machinery to strategic locations like Kargil, Siachen and the LOC, reducing the travel distance by about 100 kilometres. ◾️Security Considerations: It will ensure the safety of traffic movement, as it will not be vulnerable to long-range artillery shelling or missile firings by neighboring countries0,09%
