قال صالح العصيمي: Ṣāliḥ al-Ūṣaymī: لا أُسبوع بلا جمعةٍ، فاعمروها إذا وردت بالسعي إلى ذكر الله، There is no week without a Jum’āh, so make it alive whenever it comes with striving to the remberance of Aḷḷāh، واقتبسوا من أنوارها ما يزيدكم من هداه، And take from its lights in what will increase you from guidance، ولا تذهب ساعاتها سدًى، And don't allow its hours go to waste, فإنَّ النَّدامة على فوت خيرها شديدةٌ. For the regret on losing its goodness will be severe.

قال صالح العصيمي: Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUṣaymī: قراءة سورة الكهف مستحبة كل جمعة Reciting Sūrāh al-Kahf is recommended every Jumʿāh لا أعلم فيه خلافا بين الفقهاء I don’t know a difference regarding this between the Fuqahāʾ (the scholars) و إن لم يصح الحديث بتقييد قراءتها يوم الجمعة And even if the ḥadīth is not ṣaḥīḥ (authentic) about specifying its recitation (on) the day of Jumʿāh

بابُ الدُّعَاءِ فِي السَّاعَةِ الَّتِي فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ حدَّثنا مُسَدَّدٌ: حدَّثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ: أخبَرَنا أَيُّوبُ: عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ -رضي الله عنه- قالَ: قالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ: Abụ Hurayah said: Abụ al-Qạsim ﷺ said: «فِي الْجُمُعَةِ سَاعَةٌ، لَا يُوَافِقُهَا مُسْلِمٌ وَهوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ خَيْرًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ» «In al-Jụm’āh is a hour, no Muslim coincides (with) it, standing.doing ṣalāḥ, asking good except that (الله) gives him» أخرجه البخاري في «كتاب الدعوات» من «الجامع الصحيح المسند»

قال صالح العصيمي: Salih al-Usaymi: إذا غربت شمس الخميس, If the sun of Thursday sets, دخلت ليلة الجمعة, The night of Jum’āh enters, فنادى منادي العمل: Then a call of action is called: أقبلوا على يومكم هذا، Focus on this day of yours؛ لتغتنموا حسناته، To enrich from its good (deeds)، فإنه روضة خيرات، ومجمع بركات, For it is a garden of goodness and a collection of blessings فيه صلاة مشهودة، وساعة معدودة، وأذكار مسرودة، In it is a witnessed Salāh, a counted hour and continuous remberance, فأجيبوا الدَّاعي، وأحسنوا المساعي. So respond to the caller and do good of the path.

قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ: وَبَلَغَنَا أَنَّهُ مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ وُقِيَ فِتْنَةَ الدَّجَّالِ Ash-Shafi’ī said regarding the narration of Abị Sa’īd (al-Khudrị): And it reached us that whoever recites Sụrāḥ al-Kahf, he will be protected from the fitnah of ad-Dajjạl قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ: وَأُحِبُّ كَثْرَةَ الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي كُلِّ حَالٍ، وَأَمَّا فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَلَيْلَتِهَا أَشَدُّ اسْتِحْبَابًا Ash-Shafi’ī: lt is beloved to me a lot of Ṣalāḥ upon the Nabi̇ ﷺ at any time, as for for the day of Jụm’āh and its night, then it is more recommended وَأُحِبُّ قِرَاءَةَ «الْكَهْفِ» لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَيَوْمَهَا لِمَا جَاءَ فِيهَا And it is beloved to me reciting «al-Kahf» the night of Jụm’āh and its night due to what was narrated regarding it. «معرفة السنن والآثار ج(٤) ص(٤٢)»

حدَّثني مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ: حدَّثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: Abụ Mụsạ that the Nabī ﷺ said:: «مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللهِ أَحَبَّ اللهُ لِقَاءَهُ، وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللهِ كَرِهَ اللهُ لِقَاءَهُ». «Whoever love to meet Aḷḷāh, Aḷḷāh will love to meet him, and whoever dislike to meet Aḷḷāh, Aḷḷāh will dislike to meet him». أخرجه البخاري في «كتاب الرقاق» من «الجامع الصحيح المسند»

ما حكم مشاهدة مباريات كرة القدم What is the Ruling of Watching Football Matches? س: ما حكم مشاهدة مباريات التي في كذا وكشف العورات والدفاع عن اللاعبين؟ Question: what is the ruling of watching matches which have etc, uncovering of ‘Āwrahs and defending of players? قال الصالح العصيمي: Ṣạliḥ al-Ūṣaymī: مشاهدة المباريات محرمة كما هو فتوى اللجنة الدائمة. Watching matches is Haram like it is the fatwa of al-Lajnah al-Da’imah.

عبد الرحمن ابن براك: AbdurRahmān Ibn Barrak: فينبغي للمسلم أن يحرص على تعلم العلم النافع: It is benefitting for the Muslim to strive on learning beneficial knowledge: القرآن، الحديث، التفسير Al-Qurān, al-ḥạdịth, at-tafsīr ويسأل أهل العلم And ask the people of knowledge ويقرأ الكتب الطيبة النافعة المتضمنة لهذا العلم من كتب التفسير وكتب الحديث And read good, benefical books comprising of this knowledge from the books of tafsīr and the books of ḥạdịth نفعنا الله وإياكم بما علمنا وعلّمنا ما ينفعنا إنه -تعالى- سميع الدعاء May الله benefit us and you with what he taught us, and teach us what benefits us, verily he -تعالى- is the answerer of duā

قال: عَبْد اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رضي الله عنهما: Ābduḷḷāh Ibn Abbas -رضي الله عنهما-: حِينَ صَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ، وَأَمَرَ بِصِيَامِهِ When Rasuḷḷāh ﷺ fasted the day of ‘Āshura and commanded with its fasting قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهُ يَوْمٌ تُعَظِّمُهُ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى They (the Sahābah) said: O Rasuḷḷāh, it is a day which the Yahūd and the Nasārā exalts فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: So Rasuḷḷāh ﷺ said: «فَإِذَا كَانَ الْعَامُ الْمُقْبِلُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ صُمْنَا الْيَوْمَ التَّاسِعَ،». «When it is the next year -إن شاء الله-, we will (also) fast the ninth day (from Muharram)» . قَالَ: فَلَمْ يَأْتِ الْعَامُ الْمُقْبِلُ حَتَّى تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ He (Ibn Abbas) said: The next year didn’t come except that Rasuḷḷāh ﷺ already passed away أخرجه مسلم في «صحيحه»

قال ابن تيمية: Ibn Taymiyyah: «استغفار الإنسان أهم من جميع الأدعية» The seeking of forgiveness (al-Istigfar) of a person is more important than any duā». «حامع المسائل»

قال أحمد بن محمد بن حنبل Aḥmad Ibn Mohammad Ibn Hanbal: رحم الله عبدا قال بالحق May الله have mercy of a servant that proclaims with the truth واتبع الأثر And follows the Athar وتمسك بالسنة And hold fast with the Sunnah واقتدى بالصالحين And take example with the Ṣalihīn (righteous) «طبقات الحنابلة»

I am helping raise funds for a close family member who is currently 8 months pregnant with her sixth child and urgently needs medical care for a safe delivery. قال عبد الرحمن ابن براك: AbdurRahmān Ibn Barrak: حكم التهنئة بالسنة الهجرية Ruling of Giving Congratulations for the Hijri New Year لا أصلَ لهذه التهنئة، والاحتفالِ والحديثِ كذلك عن الهجرة: (There is) no basis for this congratulations and celebrating, and likewise talking about al-Hijrah كلّ هذا لا أصل له، رأس السنة بدايةً ونهايةً ليس له خصوصيّة، فلا ينبغي تخصيصه . All of this have no basis, the beginning of the Year and the end have no special significance, so it shouldn’t be taken special «كلمة: عدم تخصيص رأس السنة الهجرية بشيء»

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ Abū Hurayah said: Rasuḷḷāh ﷺ said: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا تَدْخُلُوا الجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا By the one in whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Jannah until you believe وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا And you will not believe until you love (eachother) أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى أَمْرٍ إِذَا أَنْتُمْ فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ؟ Should I not direct you upon something that if you do it, you will love each other? أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ ٍSpread Ṣālam between yourselves رواه مسلم واللفظ للترمذي

قال عبد الرزاق ابن بدر: AbdurRazzaq Ibn Badr: أنك لن تكون من المخلصين You will not become among the sincere ones إلا إذا أعانك الله على الإخلاص Unless that الله aids you upon (having) sincerity فاسأل الله أن يعينك So ask الله to aid you «الدرس الثاني من شرح (تبصير الناسك بأحكام المناسك)»

قال عبد الرحمن ابن براك: AbdurRahmān Ibn Barrak: يوم العيد يوم مبارك؛ لما فيه من الذِكر والشكر والصلاة والتلاقي بين المسلمين. The day of Eid is a blessed day due to what in it from Dhikr (remembrance), Shukr (gratitude) and Salāh and meeting between the Muslimīn «العدة في فوائد أحاديث العمدة (ص٢٤٨)»

باب صوم يوم عرفة وعاشوراء The Chapter of the Day of ‘Arafah and ‘Ashūra قال الشافعي: أخبرنا سفيان بن عيينة قال: أخبرنا داود بن شابور و غيره عن أبي قزعة عن أبي الخليل عن أبي حرملة عن أبي قتادة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: Abī Qatādah said: Rasullāh ﷺ: صيام يوم عرفة كفارة السنة والسنة التي تليها The fasting of the day of the ‘Arafah is the expiration of the (sins of the) year, and the year following it وصيام يوم عاشوراء يكفر سنة The fasting of the day of ‘Ashūra expiates a year (of sins) قال الشافعي: Ash-Shaf’ī: فأحب صيامهما I recommend the fasting of the both of them إلا أن يكون حاجا فأحب له ترك صوم يوم عرفة Except if he is doing Hajj, then I prefer for him leaving the fasting of the day of ‘Arafah لأنه حج, مضح و مسافر Because he is performing Hajj, under the sun and is travelling ولترك النبي ﷺ صومه في الحج And due the Nabī leaving its fasting during al-Hajj ليقوى بذلك على الدعاء و أفضل الدعاء دعاء عرفة And to gain strength with that upon duā and the best of duā is duā (upon) Arafat «مختصر المزني ص(٣٢٤)»
