⚔St. Michael's Lent⚔ St. Michael's Lent is a fast kept by St. Francis of Assisi which runs from the Feast of the Assumption (August 15) and ends on the the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel [Michaelmas] (September 29). A good way to keep this fast is to pray daily to St. Michael and offer something in honor of him. Below is one of my favorite prayers to St. Michael the Archangel for this fast (although any prayer to him will do.) *Important: St. Michael's Lent is not mandatory; it is an optional and good devotion.* 40 Day Consecration Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel: (An indulgence of two-hundred days is granted to everyone who devoutly says this prayer once a day, praying for the needs of the holy Church and the Supreme Pontiff.) Oh, most noble Prince of the Angelic Hierarchies, valorous warrior of Almighty God, and zealous lover of His glory, terror of the rebellious angels, and love and delight of all the just, my beloved Archangel Saint Michael, desiring to be numbered among your devoted servants, I, today offer and consecrate myself to you, and place myself, my family, and all I possess under your most powerful protection. I entreat you not to look at how little I, as your servant have to offer, being only a wretched sinner, but to gaze, rather, with favorable eye at the heartfelt affection with which this offering is made, and remember that if from this day onward I am under your patronage, you must during all my life assist me, and procure for me the pardon of my many grievous offenses and sins, the grace to love with all my heart my God, my dear Savior Jesus, and my Sweet Mother Mary, and to obtain for me all the help necessary to arrive to my crown of glory. Defend me always from my spiritual enemies, particularly in the last moments of my life. Come then, oh Glorious Prince and succor me in my last struggle, and with your powerful weapon cast far from me into the infernal abysses that prevaricator and proud angel that one day you prostrated in the celestial battle. Accompany me then to the throne of God to sing with you, Archangel Saint Michael and all the angels, praise, honor and glory to the One who reigns for all eternity. AMEN.

I am nothing but an instrument. 6. Think of what you are doing. Do not be concerned about anything else, whether bad or good. 7. Preserve order, and order will preserve you. 8. Peaceful and benevolent action. 9. Preparation—Action—Conclusion. 10. Remember that you belong exclusively, unconditionally, absolutely, irrevocably to the Immaculate: Whoever you are, whatever you have or can, whatever you do (thoughts, words, action) and endure (pleasant, unpleasant, indifferent things) belong to the Immaculate. Consequently, may she dispose of them according to Her will (and not yours). In the same way it belongs to Her all your intentions; therefore, may she transform them, add others, take them away, as She likes (in fact, She does not offend justice). You are an instrument in Her hand, therefore do only what She wants; accept everything like a child to his own mother, trust Her in everything. Take an interest about Her, Her veneration, Her things and let Her take care of you and your loved ones. Recognize that everything you have comes from Her and nothing from you. All the fruits of your activities depend on the union with Her, in the same way as She is an instrument of the divine mercy. O Immaculate, my life (every moment of it), my death (where, when and how) and my eternity belongs totally to you. Franciscan Polish priest who took on the evil of Nazism. In 1939, his monthly review, Knights of the Immaculate, had a circulation of over a million. It's headquarters in Warsaw was the largest religious publishing house in the world. The Nazis could not tolerate his sanctity and he was arrested by the Gestapo in 1941. He was sent to Auschwitz concentration camp. Here he volunteered to take the place of a husband and father. He was tortured and finally poisoned to death. His sacrifice reminds us of that of Christ who stood in our place to liberate us and grant us a pathway to eternal life. 🙏🏼 St Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us! 🇵🇱

The physical heart of Mary is venerated (and not adored as the Sacred Heart of Jesus is) because it is united to her person and is the seat of her love (especially for her divine Son), virtue, and inner life. Such devotion is an incentive to a similar love and virtue. This devotion has received new emphasis in this century from the visions given to Lucy Dos Santos, oldest of the visionaries of Fatima, in her convent in Tuy, in Spain, in 1925 and 1926. In the visions Our Lady asked for the practice of the Five First Saturdays to help make amends for the offenses committed against her heart by the blasphemies and ingratitude of men. The practice parallels the devotion of the Nine First Fridays in honor of the Sacred Heart. ❤️

Holy Day of Obligation - The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - Saturday, 15 August. At the end of her earthly life, Mary was taken body and soul into heaven. Unlike Jesus, who ascended by His own divine power, Mary was assumed by God's grace.

Born 1193 in Assisi to a noble family. When she was 18, she heard St. Francis preaching in the town square and she knew at once that God wanted her to consecrate herself to Him. The next evening, Clare left her house at night, ran to meet St. Francis and his companions at the church they were staying in, and shared her desire to follow him in his way of life. He received her, gave her his tunic, cut off her golden locks, and sent her to a Benedictine convent, because she could not stay with the brothers. When Clare was 22, St. Francis placed her in a small house beside the convent and made her superior, a post she should serve for the next 42 years. The ´Poor Clares' as they came to be known, lived an unusually austere life for women of the time, walking barefoot around the town begging for alms, wearing sackcloth, and living without any possessions, completely dependent for their food on what was given to them. But the emphasis of their lives was, and still is, contemplation. St Clare, pray for us 🙏

Happy Feast Day of St Mary MacKillop 🇦🇺 Patron Saint of Australia & the Archdiocese of Brisbane Australia's only saint canonised in 2010 in Rome. She served God,'s young and poor especially through education. She founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, a congregation of religious sisters that established schools and welfare organisations across Australia & New Zealand.
