La guerra in Libano ha costretto centinaia di migliaia di persone a lasciare le proprie case. Famiglie intere sono fuggite dal sud del Paese, dalla Bekaa e dalla periferia sud di Beirut. Oggi vivono in scuole, edifici pubblici e centri di accoglienza temporanei. Molti hanno perso tutto: casa, lavoro, sicurezza. Secondo gli ultimi aggiornamenti, gli sfollati hanno già superato 700.000 persone. Tra loro ci sono bambini, anziani e famiglie che hanno bisogno urgente di cibo, medicine, vestiti e beni di prima necessità. In queste ore stiamo lavorando insieme ai nostri partner locali di Minds for Community per portare aiuti concreti alla popolazione colpita dal conflitto. Ma i bisogni crescono ogni giorno. 53 anni fa iniziavo la Maturità Classica. Per il tema d'italiano scelsi quello della mia vita: l'Europa. Fu di ben sette pagine. Ci misi il Mito, la storia, la Religiosità Indoeuropea di Günther (che peraltro non sapevo essere il suocero di Adriano Romualdi). Ma anche l'attualità. Pochi mesi prima in Lituania (che apparteneva all'Urss) si era attivata la guerriglia. Qualche tempo prima era ancora attiva in Ucraìna (sempre Urss). Fu solo molto più tardi che seppi che c'era stata anche in Romania. Spezzare le catene russe ma differenziarci spiritualmente e culturalmente dagli americani per rifare dell'Europa il centro della civiltà. In più di mezzo secolo ne sono accadute di cose! La Germania si è unita. Il grande gulag russo è crollato. I popoli europei dell'est si sono liberati. Gli Ucraìni e i Baltici sono diventati indipendenti anche se sempre minacciati dal tiranno moscovita, solo muscoli e frustrazione. Perfino la Georgia e la Bielorussia, condizionate dalla Russia - la prima per gentile concessione americana e israeliana a Putin, la seconda per il decisivo sostegno cinese - hanno una parvenza di nazionalità. Ad ovest le cose si sono mosse contemporaneamente in due direzioni opposte. Lo stile di vita si è americanizzato (ma questo anche in Russia e in Asia), ma le divergenze d'interesse si sono progressivamente manifestate, tanto che s'inizia a parlare non solo di riarmo ma di "decoupling" tra le due sponde dell'Oceano. Viviamo un momento molto interessante. Servirà a chiudere, come auspicavo 53 anni fa, il tema della mia vita? Lo vedremo! E soprattutto faremo sempre in modo di metterci quel minimo che possiamo. Malgrado la forza d'attrito che ci circonda, costituita da cacadubbi, da ignavi, da OGM, da ipnotizzati, da infelici che, congiuntamente, ridono con disperazione di chi non è ancora morto e vogliono convincerlo che tutto è vano, salvo un altro padrone.
