🇺🇸💉On studying medicine in the United States Recently, many students (mainly from 🇺🇿Uzbekistan) asked me if it’s possible to study medicine in the US. The answer is yes. It’s possible, but the path is a bit complex. Let's elaborate on that step-by-step. 1. Graduate from school. 2. Enter a US university (bachelor’s degree 4 years). You can major in anything, but you must complete required pre-med courses: Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Statistics/Math, Psychology/Sociology. 3. Prepare for the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test). This is usually taken in the 3rd year of your bachelor’s. 4. Apply to medical school (MD program). Only a small number of US med schools accept international students, and financial aid is very limited. 5. Attend medical school (4 years). During and after medical school, you’ll take your USMLE exams, complete residency (3–7 years depending on your specialty), and pass Step 3. After that, you can become a licensed physician in the US. All of these details you’ll figure out along the way once you’re in the system. For now, your focus should be on preparing for college admissions and getting into a good university. Overall, Bachelor’s degree first → MCAT → Medical school → Residency. ❗️Note, Pre-med” is not a major — it’s just the required courses you must take during your bachelor’s. @asadbekurakov

You can check it by yourself. • H+ status: university is recognized in Germany. • H- Status: your degree is not recognized in Germany. • H+/- Status: it means that there is no clear recognition status for your university and each degree is evaluated and decided on on a case-by-case basis. 🇩🇪I researched and found out that it is possible to go to Germany for an undergraduate degree right after 11 years of education. Yet, you should know that Uzbek (attestat) diploma is usually not enough for direct entry to a bachelor’s program, which lasts 3 years. Ways right after high school: 1. Studienkolleg → 1-year prep school in Germany (in German) → Bachelor's in Germany (3 years) Requires German B2 to enter. Has its own exam called Aufnahmeprüfung. SAT does not exempt you from Aufnahmeprüfung. After finishing, you take the final exam and then can apply to bachelor’s programs in Germany. There are private and public Studienkollegs: private costs around €5,000–€8,000, public is free (only semester fees). 2. Direct entry to private universities in Germany Some private universities accept you without German, only with English, and without 12 years of education. These are: Constructor University Bremen Berlin International University of Applied Sciences Lancaster University Leipzig 3. 1 year in Uzbekistan, then Germany 1 year at an accredited Uzbek university = can skip Studienkolleg in Germany. Field of study in Uzbekistan must match your chosen field in Germany. Language requirement still applies: German C1 for German programs, IELTS/TOEFL for English ones.
