Bharat Boosts Seychelles Maritime Security With Free Defence Equipment, 5 Boats and Dornier Support. India has further strengthened its defence and maritime partnership with Seychelles, an important Indian Ocean island nation. Five laser radial boats were handed over to the Seychelles Defence Force. They will help improve seamanship training and operational readiness. Three Dornier aircraft Main Electronic Units (MEUs) were repaired by Indian naval facilities free of cost and handed back to Seychelles. India also provided 18 sets of specialised calibrated aircraft tools, enabling Seychelles to conduct more in-house testing and faster repairs of its Dornier fleet. 50 safety helmets and seamanship ropes were also handed over to the Seychelles Coast Guard to improve personnel safety and operational preparedness. The assistance is strategically important because Seychelles sits in the western Indian Ocean.

The US umbrella is fading — and Asia is feeling the chill While the Trump administration insists it is "digging in" in the Indo-Pacific, the reality on the ground suggests otherwise. The war in Iran has stretched US military capacity thin, and the Pentagon has made clear that it can no longer "indefinitely shoulder Asia's security costs," SCMP reports. 🌏 The US has redeployed the aircraft carrier USS George Washington to the Middle East to replace the exhausted USS Abraham Lincoln 🌏 War-depleted arsenals have also caused delays in weapons deliveries to regional allies: Japan cannot receive 400 promised Tomahawk missiles, while the total value of the backlog for undelivered US arms to Taiwan is approximately $21.5 billion Regional countries are being told to boost defense spending, improve their military capabilities, and take on more responsibility for their own security. For regional states, this raises questions about whether the US is already stretched too thin and how reliable its security guarantees really are. 🔶 Japan and the Philippines are already building a parallel security framework, expanding joint drills and intelligence exchanges 🔶 Regional countries are being forced to rely more heavily on existing blocs such as the Quad and AUKUS, escalating military spending and nuclear risks and making bloc polarization more pronounced 🔶 Other Southeast Asian states are signaling unease about being drawn into a confrontation between the US and China The message from the White House may be about shared responsibility, but the regional response suggests a different reading – allies are hedging against a US that is increasingly distracted and asking them to carry the burden of a confrontation they did not ask for.

“Today, we are changing the course of our movement. We have had enough of Gandhian methods and peaceful protests. They simply aren't listening. We are now going to adopt the path of Bhagat Singh. We are prepared to face bullets, even if the government shoots us in the chest, for this cause. We will continue our agitation until our demands are met" The JPSC JSSC Reform Manch said its movement in Jharkhand would now intensify, with leader Ravindra Paswan saying the agitation would follow the path of Bhagat Singh instead of MK Gandhi.
