Tartini’s style initially followed the Baroque tradition and evolved into a virtuosic pre-Classical style. The „Tartini tones“—combination tones produced when two different notes are played simultaneously—were named after him. 👌 The Devil’s Trill Sonata in G minor from 1730, for solo violin and basso continuo, is one of Tartini’s best-known works. According to Tartini, the sonata’s creation was preceded by a dream the composer had, in which the devil played a sonata of exquisite beauty, which Tartini attempted to recreate upon waking. He later honed his skills at the renowned Art Students League in New York and the Fechin Institute in Taos, New Mexico.
