So I ended up checking out this online shop recently — wasn’t expecting much at first, but the stuff there is actually on point. Everything is picked carefully—first tested for quality, then only the good pieces make it in. Some people believe that children should be taught how to manage money in school. Do you agree or disagree?

More and more parents are opting for online schooling instead of sending their children to traditional schools. Do the advantages of online schooling outweigh the disadvantages? More and more parents are prioritizing online schooling over sending their children to traditional schools. While this tendency has upsides such as flexibility and advantages for introverted learners, its downsides—weaker social skills and reduced academic engagement—by far outweigh the advantages. Studying from the comfort of home can certainly offer a flexible study schedule. For example, students do not have to worry about early wakeups, rush hour, and traffic congestion on the roads. These, in turn, reduce attention span and leave students feeling drained throughout the day, making it difficult to get themselves going and resulting in a less effective learning experience. As a result, online learning can save a significant amount of time and money, which are typically spent on uniform, books, lunch meals, and transportation costs. Another advantage of online lessons is creating a more comfortable environment for introverted learners. Unlike conventional institutions, where much of the learning environment is built on having a good relationship with others, too many interactions can take an emotional toll. Hence, when children are opting for home-schooling, they can do their studies at their own pace in a relaxed environment, potentially leading to a better focus and increased engagement. In my opinion, however, the disadvantages of online learning should not be overlooked. Unlike online schools, where pupils have fewer interactions, traditional schools offer more communication which betters social skills. For example, by interacting and playing with peers, teachers, and working on group projects, they master communication skills, emotional intelligence, as well as teamwork skills—things that are pivotal in today’s collaborative world. These are important for shaping well-rounded and confident individuals, consequently making them capable of flourishing/thriving in any environment. Besides, online studies reduce academic acquisition. While children in schools have a chance to ask real-time questions and have answers promptly from qualified tutors, home-schools fail in this regard. This is because many lessons are recorded and edited in advance. Once students come up with questions, the best options would be emailing teachers or googling them--tasks which are time consuming and less efficient. Such real-time feedback and exchange allow students to grasp concepts better. In conclusion, although the advantages of online schools—flexible study schedule and comfortable space for introverted pupils—sound fair on the face of it, I still think that the disadvantages, such as hindered social skills and reduced academic engagement, deserve more attention. band 8.0
