Toughest and most complex Ministry to understand is this Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). So let's get it done in a single post clearly forever. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) came into existence as an independent ministry in 1999 following the merger of the 1. Department of Statistics and the 2. Department of Programme Implementation. Besides these wings, there is the A. National Statistical Commission, an autonomous body which formed on 12 July 2006 under the recommendation of Rangarajan commission. It was created through a resolution of Government of India. Established in 2026, it also functions under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation of the Government of India. Also under this Ministry one autonomous Institute, viz., B. the Indian Statistical Institute headquartered in Kolkata, India with centers in Chennai, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Tezpur. It was declared an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the Indian Statistical Institute Act, 1959. Established in 1931, it also functions under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation of the Government of India. ISI's origin can be traced back to the Statistical Laboratory in Presidency College, Kolkata, set up by Mahalanobis, who worked in the Physics Department of the college in the 1920s. In 1931, Mahalonobis held a meeting with Pramatha Nath Banerji, Nikhil Ranjan Sen and Sir Rajendra Nath Mookerjee. This meeting led to the establishment of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis was an Indian scientist and statistician. He is best remembered for the Mahalanobis distance, a statistical measure, and for being one of the members of the first economic Planning Commission of independent India. He made pioneering studies in anthropometry in India. He founded the Indian Statistical Institute, and contributed to the design of large-scale sample surveys. For his contributions, Mahalanobis has been considered the father of statistics in India. Since 2007, 29 June is celebrated as National Statistics Day in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of P.C. Mahalanobis and his contributions to statistical science and planning. In later life, Mahalanobis was a member of the planning commission contributed prominently to newly independent India's five-year plans starting from the second. In the second five-year plan he emphasised industrialisation on the basis of a two-sector model. His variant of Wassily Leontief's Input-output model, the Mahalanobis model, was employed in the Second Five Year Plan, which worked towards the rapid industrialisation of India. - The Department of Statistics consists of the: 1. National Statistical Office(NSO) 2. Computer Center - The Department of Programme Implementation has two divisions, namely: 1. Infrastructure Monitoring and Project Monitoring(IPMD) 2. Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme(MPLADS). Central Statistics Office (CSO) - created in 1951 under Cabinet Secretariat was finally merged with NSSO to make National Statistical Office (NSO) in 2019 under the department of statistics in MoSPI. The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) is a major public agency in India that gathers socioeconomic data. Formed in 1950, it works under the MoSPI. In 2019, it merged with the CSO - Central Statistics Office to form the National Statistical Office (NSO). So Present Structure of MoSPI looks like this: MoSPI - Has Two Departments 1. Department of Statistics - it has National Statistical Office(NSO) & Computer Center 2. Department of Programme Implementation - it has Infrastructure Monitoring and Project Monitoring(IPMD) & Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme(MPLADS). MoSPI also has one autonomous Institute - Indian Statistical Institute headquartered in Kolkata. MoSPI also has National Statistical Commission, an autonomous body which formed on 12 July 2006. ~ Abhinaw, IAS Corridor

Sab ko Good morning- aaj Guru Prunima hai. Hum log Guru to kabhi nhi ho sakte lekin as a teacher jo parts me guru ke thoda bahut role aur place hai us place se bahut clearly kah dein ki hum log dil se chahte hain aap hamesha khush rahiye aur successful hoiye. hamari wishes bas aapke exam ki saflata tak nhi hain. hamari wishes me aapki khushi jo hamesha har din rahe, aapka health, apka wealth, apka mental peace, aapke ghar friends ke beech apka samman aur khushi sab hai. aapne yahan admission liya iski badault hum exist kar pate hain aur sabse important ek hope hai ki aage aur achhe hoga sab. wo hope aapke presence aur aapke lagav pe exist karti hai. and that makes you close to our heart. Course aayenge jaynege but life lambi hai. hum chahte hain aaj se 20 saal baad bhi aap ek text karein to humein yaad rahe aapke bare me aur hum milein to aapko yaad rahe hamare bare me. is platform ko ab 6 saal ho gaye. chhota tha ye, haan aj bhi chhota hai lekin yahi iski beauty hai. ek ek student jo sath hai aur jo kabhi ek step leke baat krta hai wo hamare thoughts me living hai. Hume yahi karna tha aur yahi aage karna hai. Paisa kam zyada ye sab ke bahut options hain but pyar kam na ho kyunki iska koi alternative nhi hota. Saal ke ant me aapka ek teacher 38 ka ho jayega. ye life aadhe se zyada ji li gayi hai aur khubsurat hai. Is se better jo hoga mujhe pata nhi yaar lekin apne parents ko dekhna, apni personal life achhe se jeena, apne students ko dekhna - chhoti chhoti baat me reply karna, kabhi naraz ghar walon ko kabhi naraz student ko sorry bolna. shayad yahi life ka achha roop hota hai. ye sab aur achha tab hota hai jab aap khush hote hain. aur aap tab khush hote hain jab apka result aata hai. result sabka nhi bhi aata lekin sab log life me fir bhi achha karte hain. Bas itna hi chahiye. Apna dhyan rakhiye. Khsuh rahiye aur bahut zyada positive rahiye. Hard work bahut aur expectation kam, bas yahi funda hai khushi ka life mein. Salon ho gye honge mujhe kisi ki koi baat dil pe liye. Emotions dead nhi hain, time ke sath samjh aa gaya hai ki time change hota rahta hai to itna load kyun lena, gussa kyun hona kisi pe. Next time gussa aaye ya frustation ho kisi pe ya khud pe to just take a step back, stop speaking or typing and take 10 deep breaths. Uske baad kya hoga wo mujhe likhne ki need hi nahi hai. Bahut kuch kahna hai lekin bahut kuch kahna bhi Ego hai. to bas itna rahne dete hain. Have a lovely day ahead and yes you deserve everything. May luck level be 1000% in your life. God bless, stay happy. Will see you Soon here after completing some State PSC last stage work. Lots of Love & wishes ❤️

SAMARPAN UPSC CSE 2026 MAINS Test Seies 75-Day Intense Answer Writing Initiative
Dear SAMARPAN Students, We have already completed GS Paper 1 daily answer writing sessions and are ongoing GS Paper 2. At this point, I want to say something- SAMARPAN is not just another free test series where questions are posted and forgotten. SAMARPAN has been designed as a serious Mains answer writing program with daily practice, discussion, structure-building, time management, content enrichment and exam-oriented improvement. But no program can improve your answer writing if you do not write. Many students keep waiting for the perfect preparation, perfect notes, perfect content and perfect confidence before writing their first answer. That day never comes. In UPSC Mains, marks are not given for what you know in your mind. Marks are given for what you can write on paper within limited time, with structure, clarity and relevance. This skill cannot be developed by watching classes only. It develops only when you write, make mistakes, understand those mistakes, improve and write again. Even if your answer is weak, write it. Even if your content is incomplete, write it. Even if your structure is poor, write it. Even if you feel underprepared, write it. Because a bad answer can be improved, but a blank page cannot. If you are appearing for Mains 2026, you cannot afford to remain a silent observer. Every day lost now will hurt you inside the examination hall. If you could not qualify Prelims this year, this is still the best time to build a strong Mains foundation for your next attempt. Most students start answer writing too late. You have the chance to start early and get ahead. From today, take one simple commitment: Write one answer daily. Do not aim for perfection. Aim for consistency. SAMARPAN will help you improve structure, presentation, content, examples, introductions, conclusions and time management, but the first step has to come from you. This program is free because we want maximum serious aspirants to benefit from it. But please do not mistake free access for low value. SAMARPAN demands discipline. SAMARPAN demands consistency. SAMARPAN demands seriousness. Those who write regularly will definitely see the difference in their confidence, clarity and answer quality. So from today, stop watching from the sidelines. Pick up your pen. Write the answer. Send it. Improve it. Repeat it. This is how Mains preparation becomes Mains performance. This is not just practice. This is SAMARPAN.
