  • the slop looking webpage is a simple html file I used to test app icon resolution from your desktop to the web. currently at 1.46 MB binary.

  • I am building an alternative to rize and activity-watch, which is a screen time and focus tracker for you desktop, and surprisingly two people in the community are already doing that 😁 Robi makes stuff and Kirakos. There is an already finsihed one from The Software Guy too. I want it to work in everything...Linux (niri, hyprland, sway, i3, gnome, kde), Windows and Macos. And its in ZIG. I am learning and building along the way and obviously I use AI but I am trying to embrace this. Currently its on niri since I am daily driving it but I don't think its difficult to implement the other backends once the foundation is done. And another thing it will be a zig daemon + tray icon + web dashboard + plugins like syncthing and activity-watch itself, I don't wanna do the electron and tauri cross platform thing which is already what I am doing but with more resource usage. The focus tracker will be driven by profiles that you can create and it will not allow you to launch apps and websites that are blocked by your profile.(you probably used something similar on your phone) for the plugins, I am thinking to have my own like browser-extension, gnome-extension(which is already built and at 14K+ downloads 👀), vscode-extension but also support the wakatime api so that all the editors which has wakatime plugin already built can use our engine too. finally I will let AI in (some might not like this but it will be 100% opt in). so the idea is why use the dashboard I built when you can vibecode the exact thing you want..still brainstorming this but it will be a great feature. we will see how it goes.

  • I was on a hunt to find an app for mobile data planning and usage analytics and found this app called [traffic-light]. My main goal was finding something that can track data usage automatically and also lets me enter my plan like if I bought it yesterday I have to be able to enter that as a starting date and also the usage number I am currently on and this app perfectly does that and also gives you a status bar icon of ur internet speed which is a nice addition. It has usage history too. Try it if u struggle like me. #apprecommendation

  • I’m currently conducting usability research and user interviews for the CBE Mobile Banking app, and I’m looking for real user feedback ✈️ If you’re a Telegram channel owner, I’d really appreciate it if you could share this survey with your community

Biggest pain using Linux for me: writing Amharic. The native Amharic keyboard on Linux is awful. I wanted something closer to the Windows phonetic IME — type Latin, get Fidel — so I built it and open-sourced it. What you get: • Online Amharic phonetic keyboard (try it in the browser) • Linux IBus install for system-wide typing • Install docs, typing guide, FAQ on the site • Open source — contributions welcome Site / docs: https://amharickeyboard.vercel.app/ GitHub: https://github.com/Henok-Enyew/amharic-keyboard Linux install: clone the repo → ./install.sh → Super+Space → Amharic Phonetic Try selam → ሰላም Join for more

A friend of mine got his phone stolen, and apparently that wasn’t a good enough excuse to stop replying to my Telegram messages So I built TeleLite , a small, self-hosted Telegram client for feature phones. The problem is that just telling someone to “use Telegram Web” doesn’t really work on these phones. Modern Telegram Web relies heavily on JavaScript and a pretty heavy web app, which is a lot to ask from an old Java phone or a low-power device. You can access Telegram through: A lightweight web client A J2ME .jar app for old Java phones A KaiOS app(not tested because the emulator didnt work well) It’s text-only, lightweight, and designed for those “my smartphone is lost/stolen/broken” situations god forbid 😭 It might actually come in handy someday, so take it, self-host it, break it, improve it, whatever. Would love to know what you guys think 👀 https://github.com/estifanosbereket1/telelite

  • Bro what 😁

  • It has become so incredibly difficult to love the process because nowadays it feels unnecessary to our becoming.
