  • Gems of Friday Series - 1 Steadfastness (الثبات على الدين) The greatest blessing a believer can receive is to remain steadfast upon Islam until death. Success is not judged by how a person begins life, but by how they end it: dying upon tawhid (the oneness of Allah), iman (faith), and the Sunnah. Fear Allah and remain steadfast. Allah commands the believers: Fear Allah as He truly deserves to be feared, and do not die except as Muslims." (Qur'an 3:102) The greatest calamity is losing one's religion, not losing wealth or family. The Prophet ﷺ frequently supplicated: O Allah, do not make our religion the object of our greatest calamity. Hearts need Allah's protection. Even the Prophet ﷺ often prayed: O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion. Steadfastness is achieved through practical means: •Constant recitation, reflection, and implementation of the Qur'an. •Sincere du'a asking Allah for firmness. •Keeping the company of righteous people. •Learning from the Prophets and the righteous predecessors (Salaf). •Holding firmly to the Qur'an and Sunnah. Avoiding innovations, sinful environments, doubts, temptations, and gatherings that mock Allah's religion. Remaining united with the Muslim community and avoiding division. Trials will increase over time. As people become further removed from the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ, doubts, temptations, and distractions become more widespread. This makes steadfastness even more valuable. Patience during times of fitnah carries immense reward, remaining firm upon one's religion in times of widespread trials is like holding a burning ember, and that those who persevere may receive the reward of fifty of the Prophet's Companions for comparable deeds. The best ending is to die upon tawhid and the Sunnah. The imam reminded the congregation that the greatest honor Allah grants His servant is to conclude life with sincere faith and submission. Every Muslim to make preserving their faith their highest priority. In a world filled with doubts, desires, distractions, and trials, the path to steadfastness is to cling to the Qur'an, follow the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, keep righteous company, avoid sources of misguidance, and constantly ask Allah to keep the heart firm until death. #FridaySeries

  • Be quick to forgive, slow to expose. Every human being makes mistakes. If Allah has concealed someone's faults, do not make it your mission to expose them for entertainment, gossip, or humiliation. Allah says: Let them pardon and overlook. Would you not love that Allah should forgive you? (Qur'an 24:22) The believer should be at the forefront of: Forgiving people's mistakes Concealing their faults Advising them privately Hoping for their guidance, not their disgrace The Prophet ﷺ said: Whoever conceals the fault of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. (Sahih Muslim) He ﷺ also said: The Most Merciful shows mercy to those who are merciful. Show mercy to those on the earth, and the One above the heavens will show mercy to you. (Jami' al-Tirmidhi) Be careful not to rush to expose others. Today you may be pointing at someone else's mistakes, but tomorrow you may be tested with your own. The Prophet ﷺ warned: Whoever pursues the faults of his Muslim brother, Allah will pursue his faults. And if Allah pursues a person's faults, He will expose him even if he is inside his home. (Jami' al-Tirmidhi) Remember: • If you are merciful to Allah's servants, Allah will be merciful to you. • If you conceal others, Allah will conceal you. • If you rush to expose people, do not feel secure from your own faults being exposed. So seek Allah's mercy by showing mercy to His creation. The Day will come when every one of us will desperately need Allah's forgiveness. Striving Muslim

  • Allah commands the believers in surah al-Nisa': And wish not for the things in which Allah has made some of you to excel others. For men is a share of what they have earned, and for women is a share of what they have earned. And ask Allah of His bounty. Surely, Allah is Ever All-Knower of everything. [32] In his tafsir of this ayah, sheikh Faysal Aal Mubarak wrote: Ibn 'Abbaas said: No man should wish by saying, "Woe is me, if only I had the wealth and family of so-and-so!" Allah forbade doing that. Instead, a person should ask Allah for His bounty. Ibn Sireen said: You have been forbidden from idle wishing and instead directed to something better than that - "And ask Allah of His bounty. Surely, Allah is Ever All-Knower of everything." Allah is With the Broken Heart There are wounds that no eye can see. A smile may conceal them. A voice may hide them. But Allah knows every crack in every heart. The broken heart is never abandoned by Allah. It is often the closest heart to Him, because it has nowhere else to turn. ﴿مَا أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِاللَّهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهُ﴾ “No calamity befalls, but by the Leave (i.e. Decision and Qadar) of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart.” — [Surah At-Taghabun 64:11] When Allah guides the heart, He does not always remove the trial. Rather, He fills the heart with certainty, tranquility, and reliance upon Him. The heart is not a small part of you, it is the king of your body. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Verily, in the body there is a piece of flesh which, if it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted. Verily, it is the heart.” — Bukhārī & Muslim Guard your heart more than you guard your wealth. Do not allow hatred, jealousy, envy, rancor, or revenge to settle within it. The people of Paradise are those whose hearts are purified. Allah says: ﴿وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَانًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَابِلِينَ﴾ “And We shall remove from their breasts any deep feeling of bitterness (that they may have), (so they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones.” — [Surah Al-Hijr 15:47] A heart filled with Allah has no room for the diseases that destroy souls. Perhaps your wings feel broken today. Perhaps you feel exhausted from carrying burdens no one knows except Allah. Do not think your brokenness distances you from your Lord. It may be the very reason you are nearest to Him. Allah does not look at your appearance or your possessions. He looks at your heart. And Allah praises those who truly benefit from His reminders: ﴿إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ﴾ “Verily, therein is indeed a reminder for him who has a heart or gives ear while he is heedful.” — [Surah Qāf 50:37] Your heart may be wounded, but do not let it become hard. A broken heart that turns to Allah is far more beloved than a proud heart that feels no need of Him. Keep returning to Allah. He is the One who mends what no one else can mend. May Allah heal every broken heart, purify our hearts from every disease, fill them with īmān, contentment, sincerity and love for Him, and make us among the people of Paradise whose hearts are free from hatred, envy and rancor. Āmīn. — Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله https://t.me/LightOfTheTruth

  • "We follow only the Qur'an and Sunnah." At first, this sounds correct. But the real question is: Whose understanding of the Qur'an and Sunnah? The Qur'an and Sunnah are not understood according to our personal opinions or desires. They are understood through the way taught by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to his Companions, then conveyed by the Companions to the Tabi'in, then to the Tabi' al-Tabi'in, and then preserved and explained by the great Imams of this Ummah. The path is clear: The Prophet ﷺ → The Companions → The Tabi'in → The Tabi' al-Tabi'in → The great Imams of Islam. Whoever merely says, "I follow only the Qur'an and Sunnah," without referring to the understanding of the righteous early generations (al-Salaf al-Salih), leaves the door open to interpreting the religion according to personal reasoning. The correct approach is not simply to claim adherence to the Qur'an and Sunnah, but to follow the Qur'an and Sunnah as they were understood and practiced by the Prophet ﷺ and the earliest generations of this Ummah. "The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them." (Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim) May Allah guide us to the truth and keep us firm upon the path of the Prophet ﷺ and his righteous predecessors.

  • Peace is not found by searching for perfect people. It is found by purifying the way we see imperfect people. If you truly wish to live with tranquility, contentment, and a heart at rest, stop searching for the small faults of others. Do not allow negative assumptions to become the first language of your mind. Let your first thought about every person be a good one. Give them the benefit of the doubt before your ego gives them a verdict. Be the first to forgive, not because every mistake deserves it, but because your own soul needs the freedom that forgiveness brings. Every fault you choose to overlook creates a space within your heart, and perhaps, by the infinite mercy of Allah, that very space will become the reason He overlooks your own shortcomings on the Day when you will need His forgiveness more than anything else. A believer's greatness is not measured by how many flaws they can detect in others, but by how many they can conceal with compassion, excuse with wisdom, and forgive with sincerity. Good assumptions, gentle hearts, and ready forgiveness are not signs of weakness. They are signs of a soul that longs for the mercy of Allah. The one who constantly covers the faults of people hopes that Allah will cover his faults. The one who forgives seeks to be forgiven. The one who chooses mercy becomes worthy of receiving mercy. In the end, your character is not shaped by the mistakes people make against you. It is shaped by the grace you choose to show despite them. And there is no greater success than meeting Allah with a heart that loved to forgive, a tongue that refused to judge hastily, and a soul that always hoped for His mercy. Mahmud Yahya

"A mother's temperament shapes the atmosphere of the home." This is a reminder every mother should carry in her heart. But there is something we often overlook. When we hear the word mother, we usually think of a woman raising young children. In reality, a woman does not stop being a mother when her children grow up. When she becomes a mother-in-law, her status as a mother does not change. In fact, at that stage, her character and temperament become even more important. The emotional climate of a home is greatly influenced by the woman who has the most experience, wisdom, and influence. If a mother-in-law leads with kindness, patience, mercy, and fairness, she creates a home where her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren can all thrive in peace. A calm and loving mother-in-law does not lose her place as a mother. Rather, she extends her motherhood to another daughter entering the family. So let us not limit the message, "A mother's temperament shapes the atmosphere of the home," to mothers of toddlers or young children. It applies throughout every stage of life, especially after becoming a mother-in-law. May Allah bless every mother and every mother-in-law with wisdom, gentleness, and a heart that brings peace to the family.

  • Words are never neutral—they carry the worldviews of the civilizations that made them. I just uploaded my paper, "The Sovereignty of Language," to the Archive (link in bio!). It looks at how terms like democracy and secularism conflict with classical Islamic concepts like Hakimiyyah (divine sovereignty). This is just a very small attempt on my part. If you take a look and notice any mistakes, please feel free to reach out, I'd love your feedback https://archive.org/details/sovereignty_of_language
