King Umberto II, last king of Italy, with Prince Nikita (Nicholas' Nephew). After WW2 and exile, Umberto would befriend Romanov family members.
Batushka Nikolai Guryanov with, a rather unique, icon of youngest Romanov daughter Anastasia.
Count Paul Benckendorff last time seeing the Royal Family, 31st July, 1917: "At 11:30, I waited upon the Empress to say good bye. She gave me a small medal of St Nicholas and was touching in her kindness to me. I have retained the most vivid and profoundly grateful memory of this audience. After lunch, their Majesties sent for my wife and myself to say good bye. The Emperor was as calm and self-possessed as usual. We all went once more into the garden, and His Majesty took exercise and sawed wood as before. He told me to see that the vegetables and the wood that had been sawn be distributed among the servants who had taken part in the work. We dined for the last time."
Got to visit my friend Fr Rostyslav's church today. Icon of the Royal Martyrs (not my photo) from 2 weeks ago.

A memorial Cross in Spain dedicated to the White Russian volunteers during the Spanish Civil War. The plaque explains there was a group of them stationed in that region from September 1, 1938 - January 16, 1939. There was even a divine liturgy celebrated on October 9. The sacred duty these men must've felt in stopping the spread of communism that had destroyed their native home 20 years ago.

In March 1915, the Tsar visited the shipyards in Mykolaiv, where Black Sea dreadnoughts were being built at the time. The Tsar wished to inspect the place where white-hot frames were bent into the shape they should have when they became the "ribs" of a ship. Here, as always, it was a complete nightmare: clanking, banging, sparks of red-hot steel raining down all around... The Tsar watched the skilled work of the craftsmen for a long time. Finally, saying something to one of his retinue and approaching one of the craftsmen, he personally gave him a gold watch. The craftsman, not expecting such royal favor, was completely taken aback—tears welled up in his eyes, and he nervously muttered, "Your Excellency... Your Excellency..." The Tsar, deeply touched by the old worker's emotion, also became embarrassed and, approaching him, patted him paternally on the shoulder, over his dirty work blouse, and said cordially, "Oh, come on, come on... I'm only a colonel! "
