COOK THE EASIEST! Umm Salama al ‘Amraniya, the wife of Muqbil Ibn Hadi al-Wad'iy رحمه الله said:   "When I consulted Muqbil about the preparation of the food, he would tell me: 'Cook the easiest for yourself, don't overload yourself and don't waste your time, because I will eat any food In Shaa Allah'." And even if I insisted, I didn't get more than that (as an answer from him).   [ الإمام الألمعي مقبل بن هادي الوادعي ص١٥٨/١٦١]

She is the first to wake up for suhoor, preparing breakfast and setting the table while everyone else is still asleep. She is the last to leave the kitchen, only after everything is clean and put away. Hours before iftar, she is back in the kitchen again, cooking and preparing all kinds of dishes. Brother, she is fasting too. She is tired too. If you expect (or demand) her to prepare a banquet every day, it takes away from her time and energy to focus on what truly matters. Be helpful. Be content with simple meals. Ramadan is a chance for both of you to grow. 📝 Bint Al-Magribi

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله: ‎“Constantly remember Allah in every situation, with the tongue, the heart and the actions. The person will attain Allah’s love in accordance with his remembrance of Allah.” ‎[One Hundred Pieces of Advice by Ibn al-Qayyim | Pg. 9]

Abu Ali bin Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Tumari reported that Abu Bakr bin Abd Al-Khaliq al-Warraq said: I had a daughter who was tested with a disability and she was like this for around ten years. I once said, “I wished she just died,” and then she actually died. I then saw her in my sleep (i.e., a dream after she passed away), as if she was standing in front of me and the Day of Judgement was taking place. She stood up as if she was one of those children who would take the hand of their parent and lead them to al-Jannah (Paradise). So I said to my daughter, “Take my hand and lead me to al-Jannah.” She said to me, “No, you wished for my death.” [al-Khatib al-Baghdadi (رحمه الله), Tarikh Baghdad, 6/212]

A Woman Without a Male Guardian is Easy Prey A woman once came to Makkah to perform Hajj and ʿUmrah. She was very beautiful. When she went to throw the stones at the Jamarāt, the famous poet ʿUmar ibn Abī Rabīʿah, who was known for admiring and praising women, saw her. He spoke to her, but she did not answer. On the second night, he approached her again. She shouted at him, saying: “Stay away from me! I am in the Sacred Sanctuary of Allah, during days of great holiness.” He kept insisting, so she became afraid that people might notice. She left quickly and returned to her tent. On the third night, she said to her brother: “Come with me and show me the rites.” When ʿUmar ibn Abī Rabīʿah saw her brother with her, he stayed where he was and did not approach her. She laughed and said her famous words: تعدو الكلابُ على من لا أسود له وتتَّقي صولة المستأسد الضاري “Dogs attack the one who has no lion to protect him, but they fear the charge of a strong, fierce lion.” When the Caliph Abū Jaʿfar Al-Manṣūr heard this story, he said: “I wish that every young woman of Quraysh could hear this story.” In another land, there was a wise and righteous woman. She lived with a young girl. Whenever the girl wanted to go out, the woman would say to her son: “Go with your sister. A woman without a man to protect her is like a sheep among wolves—even the weakest of them becomes bold toward her.” A message to fathers, mothers, brothers, and husbands: If she was bothered even in the Sacred House of Allah, then what about our markets and streets? O protectors of women, do not leave them alone— not because you doubt them, but because you want to protect them and safeguard their honour. [Uyūn Al-Akhbār by Ibn Qutaybah (107/4)]

Ibn Abi Shaybah رحمه الله dedicated one chapter of his Musannaf to "Houses in which the Qur'an is Recited." He concluded the chapter with the following narration: [ 29440 حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، قَالَ : كَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ : الْبَيْتُ إِذَا تُلِيَ فِيهِ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ اتَّسَعَ بِأَهْلِهِ ، وَكَثُرَ خَيْرُهُ ، وَحَضَرَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ، وَخَرَجَتْ مِنْهُ الشَّيَاطِينُ ، وَالْبَيْتُ الَّذِي لَمْ يُتْلَ فِيهِ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ ، ضَاقَ بِأَهْلِهِ ، وَقَلَّ خَيْرُهُ ، عَنْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ، وَحَضَرَهُ الشَّيَاطِينُ ] ... Abu Hurayrah used to say: The house in which Allah's Book is recited becomes spacious for its inhabitants and its good increases. The angels come to it, and the shayateen leave it. But the house in which Allah's Book is not recited becomes constricting for its inhabitants and its good is scarce. The angels avoid it, and the shayaateen come to it. [Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah #29440]

A Short Advice Muawiyah رضي الله عنه wrote to the mother of the believers, Aaishah رضي الله عنها, asking her to write to him some advice but not making it lenghty. So, Aaishah رضي الله عنها wrote: “Assalaamu Alaik. To proceed… I heard the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ saying: ❝Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allaah while the people are displeased, then Allaah will protect him from the troubles caused by the people. And whosoever seeks the pleasure of the people while displeasing Allaah, then Allaah will leave his matter for the people (i.e. Allaah will not protect him from the harms of the people)❞, Wassalaamu Alaik.” [Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2414), and graded as “Saheeh li-ghairihee” by Shaykh Al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah (2311)]

The Gheerah Of Ali رضي الله عنه One day a man asked Ali ibn Abu Talib how things were with his wife. He replied: “If your blood was to be lawful, I would have cut off your head with a sword.” [Ibn Kathir al-Bidayah wal-Nihaya]

A man once asked Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, "How can I soften my heart?" Imam Ahmad replied, "Visit graveyards and pat the head of an orphan." [Tabaqaat al-Hanaabilah 1/19]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Whoever seeks honour, let him seek it by obedience to Allaah through good speech and righteous work.” [Ighathat'ul Lahfan (vol. 2, pp. 229-233)]

Imam al-Ramli ash-Shaafa‘i رحمه الله said: It is haraam to look at a woman in niqab of whom nothing can be seen except her eyes, especially if she is beautiful. How much fitnah may be caused by looking at a woman’s eyes. [End quote from Nihaayat al-Muhtaaj, 6/188]

Mālik ibn Deenār رحمه الله: “Crying out of fear of Allāh over mistakes removes the sins like the wind removes dry leaves.” ‎ ‎[الرقة والبكاء صفحة ٥٠]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said, "When you carefully consider the corruption in children, you will realize that majority of it came from the fathers." [Tuhfah Al-Mawdūd p. 351]

A Strange Dream Of Daughter Saving Her Father On The Day Of Judgement - Abdur Razzaq al- Badr حفظه الله

Malik and Zayd ibn Thabit (رضي الله عنهم) related that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "For the ones whose concern is this world, Allah will scatter his affairs, place poverty between his two eyes and he will not get from the world except what is written for him. As for the one whose intention is the Hereafter, Allah will gather for him his affairs, place contentment in his heart and the world will come to him willingly." [Ibn Majah, Sahih al-Jami' #6386]

Imam Ahmad رحمه الله stated: There will come a time upon people, a believer will be like a stinky carcass (disliked and hated by people around him) among them ! And people will point towards Munāfiq (Hypocrite) their fingers (i.e he is a remarkable person) . They will make the commandments of Allah something in which there is no benefit . When a believer will see an opportunity for commanding good or prohibiting evil , he will not be patient about it till he commands (good) or forbids (evil), but the people will complain that he is doing something which doesn't concern him i.e there is no benefit in what he is doing ! As for a hypocrite (Munāfiq), whatever he sees , he will not care about it and it will be said about him: What a good person he is , he doesn't intervene in what doesn't concern him." [Adāb Ash-Shari'ah by Ibn Muflih 1/193]

مؤمن‌‎ ‎Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله said: Verily, from the character of the believer is: • Strength in religion. • Determination with leniency. • Faith with certainty. • Eagerness for knowledge. • Sympathy with understanding. • Moderation in worship. • Mercy with effort. • Giving to those who ask. • Not wronging the one he hates. • Not sinning over the one he loves (i.e. not allowing your love for someone to blind you and make you do haram things). • Dignified in turmoil. • Grateful in ease. • Content with what he has. • Speaking to impart understanding. • Being silent out of caution. • Affirming the truth as a witness over him. [Jami’ Bayan al-‘Ilm (622)] Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله : The believers encourage people to: • Reconcile relations with those who have cut them off. • Give charity to those who have deprived them. • Forgive those who have oppressed them. • Be kind with parents. • Uphold family ties. • Be kind with neighbors. • Be kind with orphans, travelers, and the poor, and to be gentle with servants. • They forbid bragging, arrogance, and transgression. • They discourage people from feeling superior over others, rightly or wrongly. • They enjoin people to use lofty manners and prohibit them from pursuing trifles. • All that they say or do from these virtues and other teachings, in all of it they follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah. • Their path is the religion of Islam with which Allaah has sent Muhammad.
