Roots to Fruits

The Qur'ān shouldn't be something you "get through"; it should become something you deliberately live with. In practical terms, Instead of: "I need to finish my daily pages." Think: What is Allāh teaching me here? You might read only 10-20 āyāt, but pause over them and ask, e.g: • What does this reveal about Him? • What does this reveal about myself? • What behaviour is this asking me to change? • What warning should I take onboard? • What promise fills me with hope? • What should I do differently today because I understood this? Then carry one āyah into your day.

Allāh's love is sought, shared and earned through positive deeds. From the remarkable du'ā of Prophet Dawūd ﷺ was: اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أسألُكَ حبَّكَ وحُبَّ مَن يحبُّكَ والعَملَ الذي يُبلِّغُني حبَّكَ "O Allāh, I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the deeds that will lead me to Your love." • الترمذي (٣٤٩٠)، والحاكم (٣٦٢١) صحيح الجامع (٤٤٥٣) This insightful du'ā is petitioning for the deepest form of love; one that begins with Allāh, extends to those who share it, and is completed through actions that make it real. The heart that asks for this is one that is truly seeking self-reform and transformation.

احْرِصْ عَلَى مَا يَنْفَعُكَ وَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ "...Be keen on what benefits you, and seek the help of Allāh..." ~Sahīh Muslim (2664) You are not short on strength/ability. It's where you spend it that matters. In trivial debates that change nothing, current news items you can't affect, or personal comparisons that are draining you. Success doesn't start with more effort. It starts with choosing what deserves your actual effort.

اللَّهُمَّ من وَلِيَ من أَمرِ أُمَّتِي شيئًا فَشَقَّ عليهِم، فاشقُق عليهِ، ومن وَلِيَ من أَمرِ أُمَّتِي شَيئًا فرفَقَ بِهِم، فارفُق بِهِ This du'ā is an example of jazā' min jins al-'amal; recompense being of the same nature as the deed. The Prophet ﷺ is invoking Allāh as the direct respondent to how you treat those under your care. Every wilāyah, however small, is valuable in view of this du'ā.

The truest form of patience is born not when the storm has passed, but when the first drops of rain fall... In the first moments of trauma, before the heart learns to endure. It is manifested when the soul is shaken yet remains deeply rooted in the trusting of Allāh.

Recourse to Resource Honour is not a title people give you; it is the result of noble actions that benefit others. And wealth plays a role in that. When placed in the hands of the principled, wealth becomes a means of generosity, service and lasting good. And for this reason, Sa'd ibn 'Ubādah (ر), renowned for extraordinary generosity, would supplicate to Allāh: اللَّهُمَّ هَبْ لِي حَمْدًا، وَهَبْ لِي مَجْدًا، لَا مَجْدَ إِلَّا بِفِعَالٍ، وَلَا فِعَالَ إِلَّا بِمَالٍ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا يَصْلُحُ لِي قَلِيلُهَا، وَلَا يَصْلُحُ لِي مِنْهَا إِلَّا كَثِيرُهَا "O Allāh, grant me a praiseworthy mention and glory. There is no true honour except through worthy deeds, no worthy deeds without wealth. . O Allāh, a small share of it will not do for me; nothing short of abundance will." • مصنف ابن أبي شيبة (27151) Ask Allāh for sufficiency, for acts of charity and great public benefit often require financial means. Sa'd's closing phrase recognises that a little wealth would not enable him to fulfil the level of generosity he aspired to.

Does Your Home Shine From Above? A home enlivened by the recitation of the Qur'ān becomes spiritually radiant, visible and honoured from the farthest expanses. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is reported to have said: وإنَّ البيتَ لَيُتْلى فيه القرآنُ؛ فيتراءى لأهل السماءِ كما تتراءى النجومُ لأهل الأرضِ "The house in which the Qur'ān is recited shines forth to the inhabitants of the heavens, just as the stars shine to the inhabitants of the earth." • أحمد (٢٤٤١١)، والسلسلة الصحيحة (٣١١٢) الذهبي: نظيف الإسناد، حسن المتن وله شاهد t.me/mirqat

Etiquette TEN 🧮 Marks of noble character are many, the following are but ten as highlighted by Yūsuf ibn Asbāt (d.195H): علامة حسن الخلق عشرة أشياء: ١ - قلة الخلاف ٢ - حسن الإنصاف ٣ - ترك تطلب العثرات ٤ - تحسين ما يبدو من السيئات ٥ - التماس المعذرة ٦ - احتمال الأذى ٧ - الرجوع بالملامة على نفسه ٨ - التفرد بمعرفة عيوب نفسه دون عيوب غيره ٩ - طلاقة الوجه ١٠ - لين الكلام Signs of good akhlāq consist of ten Things: 1. Minimising disputes 2. Being fair and just 3. Refraining from seeking out people's mistakes 4. Interpreting apparent wrongs in the best possible light 5. Seeking excuses for others 6. Bearing harm patiently 7. Turning blame back upon oneself 8. Being preoccupied with one's own faults rather than of others 9. A cheerful/welcoming countenance 10. A dripping tap can fill a bath; never underestimate the power of small kindnesses repeated consistently. What seems little in a moment may become immense over time.

Never be a cause for excess, nor for good things going to ruin, regardless of their size, cost or significance: أبصرت أم المؤمنين ميمونة رضي الله عنها حبة رمان في الأرض، فأخذتها وقالت: إن الله لا يحب الفساد Umm al-Mu'minīn Maymūnah (ر) saw a pomegranate seed on the ground. She picked it up and remarked: "Indeed, Allāh does not love impropriety." • طبقات ابن سعد A single pomegranate seed... so how about a meal, or a feast?

Speaking about a wisdom behind constructing the Ka'bah in the Makkan valley, ibn Taymiyah (d 728H) said: والله من حكمته جعل بيته بواد غير ذي زرع لئلا يكون عنده ما ترغب النفوس فيه من الدنيا، فيكون حجهم للدنيا لا لله "Allāh, out of His wisdom, placed His Sacred House in a barren valley without vegetation [i.e. Makkah], so that nothing of worldly desire would be found around it; ensuring that people come to it (only) for Allāh's sake, not for worldly purpose." • الجواب الصحيح (6/436)

Scholars point out that this knowledge of the LEAF includes: - Which tree it belongs to - On which branch it grew - How long it lived - The moment it detached - Where it will land - What becomes of it after The falling isn't random but decreed, written before the heavens and earth were even created.
