In July, Ofcom finalised new rules requiring UK mobile providers and business messaging aggregators to strengthen customer and traffic checks, block scam messages and act against spoofed caller identities. In the US, the FCC is applying the same principle through enforcement. Providers that fail robocall-mitigation requirements can be removed from its database and disconnected from compliant networks. In Taiwan, the country’s three largest mobile operators have launched standardised APIs for Number Verification, SIM Swap, roaming status and identity matching. Different markets. Same direction. Telecom APIs are making trust programmable, while regulation is making it operational. The GSMA now identifies fraud prevention and identity among the most commercially deployed categories for network APIs. This is the environment the Minutes Network Telecom Exchange is built for. 🪙 Minutes Network Token X — Inside the Supply Mechanism Most token reward systems expand supply. MNTx is built around a fixed supply. Its rewards are purchased rather than minted, and its burn rate responds directly to how much supply is committed to the network. That combination deserves a closer look. MNTx has a maximum supply of 500,000,000 tokens. MNTx distributed through the epoch reward system is purchased on the open market, with purchases executed through smart contracts using provable randomisation. Nineteen consecutive monthly epochs have now been completed, with rewards distributed on-chain. Each epoch pool is allocated as follows: • 10% to Node Holders • 60% to Public and Private Stakers • 15% to Callers and Callees • 15% to Network Development Within the 60% staking allocation is an adaptive burn mechanism. Before rewards are distributed, the burn rate is calculated according to the proportion of circulating MNTx that remains unstaked during that epoch. More supply staked means a lower burn. More supply unstaked means a higher burn. As last reported, 85.6% of MNTx supply was staked or otherwise non-circulating. At that level, the burn operates toward the lower end of its range, allowing eligible stakers to receive close to the highest proportion of the staking allocation permitted by the mechanism. The system adjusts automatically as supply behaviour changes: More supply staked means more of the staking allocation reaches eligible stakers. More supply unstaked means the burn increases and permanently removes more MNTx from circulation. Both outcomes operate within the same fixed supply and reinforce the same design: • Supply committed to the network • Supply permanently removed through burning • Rewards purchased through market activity • Recurring on-chain distribution This is the MNTx token economy in practice: a fixed maximum supply, open-market purchases, recurring on-chain distributions and an adaptive burn governed by supply behaviour.
