🎖🎖 by Russian Defence Ministry on progress of special military operation as of 17 August 2026 Part 2 (👉 see Part 1) 🚩 As a result of resolute actions of the Tsentr Group's units, the village of Andreyevskaya Obshchina of the Donetsk People's Republic has been liberated. 🔥The Group's units inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of three mechanised brigades, a jaeger brigade, an assault brigade, three assault regiments of the AFU, a marine brigade, and three national guard brigades close to Krasnopodolye, Belozerskoye, Dobropolye, Rubezhnoye (Donetsk People's Republic), and Andronovka (Dnepropetrovsk region). ▪️The AFU losses amounted to more than 390 troops, two armoured fighting vehicles, 11 motor vehicles, one Grad MLRS combat vehicle, one 155-mm Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system, and one counter-fire radar. 🚩 The Vostok Group's units advanced into the depth of the enemy's defence and liberated Novosoloshino of Zaporozhye region. 💥 Russian troops engaged manpower and hardware of two assault brigades, two air assault brigades, two assault regiments of the AFU, and a marine brigade close to Kolomiytsy, Pokrovskoye, Malinovka (Dnepropetrovsk region), Dolinka, Svoboda, Chervonaya Krinitsa, and Chervony Yar (Zaporozhye region). ▪️The enemy lost more than 345 troops, one tank, two armoured fighting vehicles, and nine motor vehicles. 📍The Dnepr Group of Forces improved the tactical situation. The Group's units inflicted losses on formations of two mechanised brigades, a mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a marine brigade near Orekhov, Kushugum, Malokaterinovka, Yulyevka of Zaporozhye region and the city of Kherson. ▪️Up to 40 troops, 19 motor vehicles, one U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, and three electronic warfare stations were neutralised. ✈️ Operational-Tactical Aviation, attack drones, missile troops, and artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces inflicted damage on logistics centres, fuel, power, and transport infrastructure of Ukraine, assembly facilities, and storage areas of unmanned ground vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and uncrewed surface vehicles, as well as temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 144 areas. ▫️Air defence systems shot down 12 guided aerial bombs, four MLRS projectiles, including two U.S.-made HIMARS and two Czech-made Vampire munitions, as well as 797 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles. 📊 In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the enemy has lost: ▫️ 673 aircraft, ▫️ 284 helicopters, ▫️ 210,774 unmanned aerial vehicles, ▫️ 669 anti-aircraft missile systems, ▫️ 30,606 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, ▫️ 1,774 MLRS combat vehicles, ▫️ 36,173 field artillery guns and mortars, ▫️ 69,491 units of support military vehicles. 🔹 Russian Defence Ministry

The Group's units inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of three mechanised brigades, an assault brigade, an assault regiment of the AFU, and a territorial defence brigade near Balakleya, Veseloye, Podliman (Kharkov region), Donetskoye, Krymki, Mayaki, and Svyatogorsk (Donetsk People's Republic). ▪️The enemy losses amounted to more than 210 troops, one armoured fighting vehicle, 18 motor vehicles, one Grad MLRS combat vehicle, one artillery gun, and two electronic warfare stations. ▫️ The Yuzhnaya Group of Forces improved the tactical situation along the front line. 'They thought it was theirs' 💬 Warrant officer of an assault company Aleksandr Petrov described the details of liberation of Petrovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. During the assault, the servicemen lured the enemy with Ukrainian speech. The enemy thought that his troops were everywhere, so he got captured and surrendered without a fight. ↗️ Due to a sudden encirclement from all sides, the assault group caught the sleeping soldiers by surprise in dugouts. During the day, strike UAVs hit: ▪️ in Belgorod‑Dnestrovsky (40 km southwest of Odessa) – a production workshop, a depot of warheads and components for uncrewed surface vehicles used to launch attacks on naval vessels and power infrastructure facilities in the Black Sea, as well as Russian cities on the Black Sea coast; ▪️ in Vilkovo (138 km southwest of Odessa) – a berth for patrol boats of the Ukrainian Navy, which were used to escort naval vessels carrying military cargo and fuel to ports; ▪️ in the port of Odessa – three dry cargo ships and two sea tankers that were used to deliver military cargo and fuel and lubricants for the AFU, as well as fuel tanks and depots containing military equipment. ▪️ In addition, a cargo ship that was delivering Western weapons to Ukraine was hit in the Black Sea, east of Odessa. 🔹Russian Defence Ministry
