An evening of surreal comedy poemz and songs at Kashirka Art space. It is our profound honour to present an evening of original writing inspired by the tradition of English surrealist and nonsense writers such as Edward Lear, NF Simpson and Syd Barrett. The tradition of “nonsense” in English literature which is founded in Dada and Jarry finds its expression in the genius of Spike Milligan, Ivor Cutler and Viv Stanshall. I love to explore irrational and illogical art forms, after all, it’s completely irrational in itself to waste your life pretending to talk to invisible friends but apparently this practice is more common than most would like to think. Come and spend an hour immersed in a different reality. A rich and strange dimension with a touch of magic. Entrance is by Invitation only. Sits like a man, but he smiles like a reptile She loves him, she loves him, but just for a short while She'll scratch in the sand, won't let go his hand He says he's a beautician and sells you nutrition And keeps all your dead hair for making up underwear Poor little Greenie Woo-hoo The Jean Genie lives on his back The Jean Genie loves chimney stacks (The Jean Genie) he's outrageous, he screams and he bawls The Jean Genie, let yourself go! Whoa-oh! He's so simple-minded, he can't drive his module He bites on the neon and sleeps in a capsule Loves to be loved Loves to be loved Oh, the Jean Genie lives on his back The Jean Genie loves chimney stacks (The Jean Genie) he's outrageous, he screams and he bawls The Jean Genie, let yourself go! Oh! Go! Go The Jean Genie lives on his back The Jean Genie loves chimney stacks (The Jean Genie) he's outrageous, he screams and he bawls The Jean Genie, let yourself go! Oh! Go! Go, go!
My dears, I’ll try to explain the nature of what it is I have written for you. Poems, dialogues, études, theatrical provocations—they’re all as virgin as the snow, untouched by human witness. The basic premise is a day in the life of a park bench. Somebody comes along, pontificates about the meaning of life, what it is to be human—or otherwise—ponders the meaning of their existence and identity, then moves on. This motif repeats itself several times until, as a metaphor, a collage of impressions emerges: The overall reference is to Plato’s cave as people express their thoughts and reflections on what’s happening outside the cave window.
We are almost full to busting so please put your name down if ya wanna come and change your reality for an hour or two.
Entrance is FREE and by invitation only, so please let me know if you want to attend and I’ll put you on the guest list. People with good English and an open mind are infinitely welcome.
English theatre Co. invite intelligent and curious theatre lovers to our foolhardy new writing forum at LACHESIS Chistoprudny boulevard 25. In the performing arts, "new writing" refers to contemporary, original plays—often produced for the first time—that focus on living playwrights and shifts the focus away from classic revivals, prioritizing stories that reflect the "here and now" and providing a platform for new writers actively exploring personal themes and shifting identities. Fluid Forms: While it encompasses traditional text-based plays, it also includes experimental storytelling, and non-linear narratives, especially in our case.
God rest the soul of this great Bradfordian. I was in the same class at school with his niece, Lisa, who told me some brilliant stories about how “grannie waa gonna kill our David for making her look stupid in his cubist photographs” by the way, they are simply genius. Thank you David Hockney for your brilliance, elegance and your wit. Rest in peace.
With great pleasure we announce our upcoming summer courses for kidz https://m.vk.com/wall-69151521_516

It was truly amazing! For me, the existential direction of philosophy is a deeply personal and very important topic, perhaps the most important in my life. I stumbled upon yesterday's performance quite by accident and was in complete shock and delight. Immediately after the play, I was gripped by a strong feeling. Existentialism and absurdism permeated the entire production. But often, this is merely my subjective perception and not necessarily what the author intended, so I did not voice these ideas. And how surprised I was when I heard all of this from your lips. And then you mentioned my most beloved literary authors. Yes, Camus and Sartre are quite popular; probably everyone knows them. But that doesn't make them any less significant or spiritually close to me. I mean this absolutely seriously and sincerely. For a long time, I have been trying to find plays in Russia inspired by their influence. However, as it turned out, such works are almost never staged. I am studying to be a cultural scientist, and once I asked my teacher, a Ph.D. and specialist in Russian and foreign theater, why Sartre's plays are never staged anywhere, as in terms of decorations they are easy to manage, and the plots are quite realizable on stage. She looked at me sharply with a serious gaze and explained that it is almost impossible. The impossibility of conveying a thinking, existential person. To play, to portray them. This struck me deeply. She explained that it is likely the most difficult, almost unachievable task. - You can't play depth without having depth within yourself? - The scariest part is that you actually can. - ? - Once I saw it and it greatly disappointed me. The guy conveyed all the emotional impulses so delicately, incredibly. It seemed he felt it just as sensitively in life, as if it were impossible to just play it. I awaited our meeting, anticipating such an intelligent, sensitive person. But when I met him in person, I was horrified to find that he was, in essence, the complete opposite. The director was all of that; he breathed life into him, created all of it. He infected him with it. But that is exactly what's sad. It turns out they are just empty shells, mere puppets. And it's so sad that this can be implanted like that, while the person remains a vacuum. And I agree with her. We talked about various things, and then I went to the bathroom and cried. My friend saw me right away; she didn’t let me shed tears publicly, didn’t understand how deeply it touched me, tried to distract me, talking about her own things. We opened the window in the bathroom and sat on the windowsill, dangling our legs over the heads of passing students. She talked, and I cried. I cried and screamed inside, silently and indistinguishably.
Also…. William Shakespeare was 52 years old when he died on April 23, 1616. He passed away in his hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon, England, on his birthday, after a “night out” with fellow writers! RIP William! And April 23rd is St George’s day. England’s national day!
в Иностранке — и это уже четвёртый фестиваль, в котором мы участвуем🖤 🎟 Вход свободный — по предварительной регистрации: 👉 https://libfl.ru/ru/event/spektakl-makbet-po-motivam-tragedii-uilyama-shekspira To be or not to be — вопрос риторический.
