In your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Joyce Ripperger, mother of Fr. Chad Ripperger, who taught and fostered the strong devotion to Mary that Fr. Ripperger had. She died with all of the sacraments, the apostolic pardon, all of the commendations of the soul and the blessing of the departing soul at the moment of her death. God and Our Lady granted her the grace of a happy and holy death for which she prayed for years. May God be praised for his goodness to her.

Text I just got from Fr. Ripperger that he asked me to put out there: "In your charity, please pray for Joyce Ripperger, mother of Fr. Chad Ripperger and who taught and fostered the strong devotion to Mary that Fr. Ripperger has, is in extremis that Our Lord may take her on the feast of the Assumption in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary." ("In extremis" means her final days or more likely, hours.)

This is the cot belonging to the holiest man I know, a layman named Kevin. He is a 72 year old layman who went from meth addict twenty years ago to praying and fasting all day. He lives in a tent in the mountains but he frequently comes down to the Front Range for the pro-life movement and anti-trafficking movement. That's where I met him and he has been one of my closest friends for ten years. It's not an exaggeration to say he has saved hundreds of children from abortion and trafficking. (He did not set up his cot for this picture. This is what it always looks like, except for the little sleeping he does.)

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you all of my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the intentions of our associates and please, for the total restoration of the Catholic Church. https://www.padreperegrino.org/2026/08/wmcompiegne/

“When St. Cyrus of Alexandria was asked about the temptation of lust, he said, ‘If you are not tempted, you have no hope; if you are not tempted, it is because you are sinning. The man who does not fight sin at the stage of temptation is sinning already in his body. The man who is sinning in his flesh has no trouble from temptation.’”— Desert Fathers, p. 35.

The pre-55 Roman Breviary tells the true story of today's saint who knew Christ personally: "St. Martha was the daughter of noble and wealthy parents, but is best known as having been the hostess of the Lord Christ. After that He was ascended into heaven, Martha, along with her brother Lazarus, her sister Mary Magdalene, her waiting-woman Marcella, Maximin, who was one of the seventy-two disciples of the Lord Christ, and who had baptized the whole of the family, and many other Christians, was taken by the Jews, and turned adrift upon the open sea in a ship without sail or oars, to meet with certain wreck, but by the governance of God the ship came to land at Marseilles with all safe. Through this miracle and the preaching of the Saints, the people of Marseilles first, and then those of Aix, and of the uttermost tribes, believed in Christ, and Lazarus was made Bishop of Marseilles, and Maximin Bishop of Aix. Mary Magdalene sat still at Jesus' Feet, being altogether given to prayer and the contemplation of heavenly blessedness, that that good part which she had chosen might not be taken away from her, withdrew herself to a great cave in an exceeding high mountain, where she lived for thirty years, utterly cut off from all conversation with men, and every day during that time carried up by Angels into the air, to listen to them that dwell in heaven praising God. Martha, by the wondrous holiness and charity of her life, drew upon herself the love and wonder of all the inhabitants of Marseilles. She withdrew herself in company with some other honourable women into a place out of the way of men, where she lived long, with great praise for godliness and discretion. She foretold her own death long before, and at last, illustrious for miracles, passed away to be ever with the Lord, upon the 29th day of July. Her body is held in great worship at Tarascon."

"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."—2 Cor 4:16-18.

My post above is disproving the rumor going around "conservative Catholic circles" that goes like this: "So-and-so might be a heretic, but you really can't know until they have a formal canonical trial since you have no authority." Rather, the First Millennium of Catholicism (including Popes) had this attitude: "If it walks like a duck and squawks like a duck, it's a duck. So, trust your gut in avoiding heretics, even if they seem to be in the hierarchy

"If anyone has been excommunicated or stripped of the dignity of bishop or cleric by Bishop Nestorius, or by others who follow him, from the time they began to preach such things, it is manifest that this person has persisted and does persist in our communion; and we do not consider him removed, because the sentence of one who had already shown himself deserving of removal could not remove anyone.”—Pope Celestine to the Eastern Bishops on the heretic Nestorius (first labeled a heretic by a LAYMAN named Eusebius BEFORE any canonical trial could fall upon Nestorius.) Notice also the key words from the Pope when a heretic is excommunicated: "from the time they began to preach such things..."

A Mexican friend in Miami explained to me a few days ago something I already knew, but it was good to hear from a Mexican. Basically, he said all the worst internationals (including Mexicans) are coming here in the United States. Of course, he excepted his family and some others who came to make the country better and work hard. But he makes a great point that while immigration is a great thing, well, WHO the liberals have opened the country to has totally made this a nation of outlaws.
