No matter what happens in your life, keep moving. Move. Move. Move.
Summer started wild so far. Two weeks back home and it already feels like two months. Main focus for actual next two months is growing professionally in Tashkent. Building real connections, developing real expertise, and having real skin in Uzbekistan’s game. This will require many sacrifices, late nights, unstable schedule, high cortisol, weight loss. Regardless, let’s run the experiment and see where it goes. @shakhzodnotes
📍Freshman Office
It’s tough leaving this place but such is life. We move on. Super excited for this summer tho. Close friends are back in town + can’t wait to work with my colleagues from the new office. @shakhzodnotes

On Uzbekistan's self-incurred bottleneck. What’s holding our country back is our internal policy architecture. It slows down economic activity, delays social reform, and restricts cultural expression. External conditions rarely determine outcomes the way internal policy choices do. On Seredin's podcasts. Seredin deserves a real credit for hosting serious Uzbek intellectuals and experts. That said, I think there is a gap on interviewer's side. Seredin needs to sharpen his preparation and ask better informed questions. Shallow and underprepared questions leave most of the knowledge untouched. We have yet to see the full value of guests he's actually attracting. What makes a podcast good. A podcast is good insofar as the quality on both sides of the conversation is in roughly equal measure. A brilliant guest with a thin interviewer produces a monologue dressed as dialogue which is what I’m seeing in Seredin’s talks. https://youtu.be/lf4aeUXqU2s?si=XEyYgfMbvkYxLWSj
Also, as a proud alumni, Im frustrated with alwiut’s policies on admissions scene. First, they refuse to write rec letters and provide necessary resources for gap-year students. Second, they refused to invite a guest speaker on admissions to keep their students…
looking back, I have been inadvertently shifting gears every two years since 2019. 2019–21. Alwiut. This is where most of the fun begins. New people, new aspirations, new version of myself trying to figure out things. 2021–23. Freshman + Wiut. The years…
looking back, I have been inadvertently shifting gears every two years since 2019. 2019–21. Alwiut. This is where most of the fun begins. New people, new aspirations, new version of myself trying to figure out things. 2021–23. Freshman + Wiut. The years that transformed me the most. Went through a hella rigorous admissions process. and now it set me up for life with bedrock for my values, friend circles, and character. Met people who completely changed the trajectory of my life. 2023–25. Yonsei and the world. Going international arc starts here. Visited Korea, Germany, UAE, Kazakhstan, Czech Republic, the US mostly through educational opportunities. Feels surreal that a kid from Uzbekistan walked through these places in the span of 2 years. 2025–27. Ucla and incoming senior year. Exchange year is going wild. So much went off-script, in a good sense fortunately)) Graduation has to match the energy somehow. 2-week trip to Thailand with Mad Ladz might just be the perfect finale of this chapter. 2027–29?? Absolutely no clue. I guess that's the fun part. And somehow along the way, I've spent 2+ years building and working at freshman altogether. weird to realize how a big chunk of my life got tied to this journey. Finally, this is a perfect moment to thank people who supported and accompanied me all these years. We move forward and have fun! @shakhzodnotes

crazy how things move fast in SF I was randomly invited to the founders house, and they held their biweekly meeting. Each founder shares recent updates, gets feedback from others, and asks for specific help. insane amount of info and connections exchanged within an hour. I walked away from the room with awe and inspiration. So much of what's happening to the world of ai is concentrated in one spot. amaze. amaze. amaze. @shakhzodnotes
