The recent IRGC reshuffle cooks Ahmad Vahidi. We can begin with the fact that the Khatam ol-Anbia Headquarters, responsible for the micro/tactical coordination of the Artesh (Army) and IRGC, will begin to merge with the General Staff, responsible for macro/strategic coordination between those two militaries. In the past, the separation of those two command centres created the gap which the IRGC Commander-in-Chief could exploit to wield great levels of influence. With the merger of the General Staff and the Headquarters, long gone shall those days be. Better yet, this merger of the General Staff and Headquarters will be led by Ali Abdollahi, a long-time collaborator of Qalibaf, hence a rival of Vahidi. That is all in addition to the rise of the 'Amal-rooted' Mostafa Izadi to the position of Deputy Commander-in-Chief. From the top, bottom, and left, Ahmad Vahidi is being contained.
You cannot make sense of the history of Iran and Hezbollah without knowing about the Amal. 1. The wars in which the Amal were involved as the protagonist answer many questions such as: — Why did some operations during Iran-Iraq War succeed and others fail? — Where from came the Qasem Soleimani faction of the Quds Force? — Why did the Iran-Contra happen, how did it damage Iran's war effort, and how did it relate to the War of the Camps and the PLO-LF collusion? — Why did the US and Israel assassinate some IRGC or Hezbollah commanders and leave alive others? 2.Most analyses on Iran and Hezbollah always land on one of the following: — 'Secular' pro-NATO and pro-IDF views. — Soft-on-fundamentalism 'anti-NATO' and 'anti-IDF' stances. The assumption usually is that we have to pick between Shia Salafism and NATO-IDF alliance. The more one gets to know about the Amal, the clearer becomes the delusional nature of such a dichotomy.
The Hope of the Toilers: The Amal’s War on Feudalism: from Musa Al-Sadr to Nabih Berri CIA report on the Amal’s anti-feudalist achievements and struggle for Lebanese territorial integrity. The Amal, women’s rights, and economic development in Lebanon’s south.
Of the reshuffles in the IRGC, one of the more interesting is the appointment of Mostafa Izadi as the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC. According to many sources, Mustafa Izadi was one of martyr Mohammad Boroujerdi's protégés. Who was Mohammad Boroujerdi? He was the man of the Syrian Mukhaberar and the Amal within the Fatah during the Lebanon War. When he returned to Iran, he recruited and promoted Haajj Ahmad Motavaslian and Haajj Ebrahim Hemmat into the IRGC command. Having clashed bitterly with Mohsen Rezaei and Abbas Aqazamani, Borujerdi was in the end demoted by Mohsen Rezaei and sent to the frontline with few troops and no reinforcements and thereby killed, the same way that prominent generals Hemmat and Bakeri were killed by the wrecker Mohsen Rezaei. It remains to be seen if Mostafa Izadi will follow Mohammad Boroujerdi's path. It is something to keep on sight.
The End of Khomeinism and the Rise of the Amal in Iran The extremist discourse of Khomeinism rendered the Islamic Republic easy prey to MEK terrorist infiltration via the Mohahedin of the Islamic Revolution (MIR). The MEK-MIR terrorists grew in power and firmly upheld the Khomeinist doctrine, hiding behind it as means of promoting extremist policies and thereby sabotaging the international united front against imperialism. With the defeat of US imperialism by those IRGC generals who have origins in the Amal and the Syrian Mukhaberat, the way is being paved for the ouster of the MEK-MIR infiltrators – and by extension the Khomeinism they uphold. MIR leader and 'Ansar e Hezbollah' founder Zolqadr has been ousted. His key ally, the MIR leader Mohsen Rezaei, has been pushed into a fight against him, provoking a split in the ranks of the MIR network. Ahmad Vahidi, another MIR leader and a CIA agent, is already being referred to in Islamic Republic media as "Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC," implying that he shall no longer be the Commander-in-Chief. According to one MIR general and prominent journalist, the office of the Supreme Leader ("Mojtaba Khamenei") sent a letter asking for a greater role for Mohammad Khatami. Since the 1970s during their tenure in the Islamic Center of Hamburg, Mohammad Beheshti, Mohammad Khatami, and Mohammad Shabestari had held close intelligence and financial connections to the Musa Al-Sadr circle in Lebanon. The Stability Front, led by the MIR billionaire Sadeq Mahsouli, is losing its power too. The 'Stability Front' leader Mahmoud Nabavian lost his seat in Majles NSC leadership. Pro-Qalibaf journalist Saleh Meftah now is set to lead IRIB's political content, soon to oust Jalili aide Jebeli. Meanwhile, Sheikh Mirbaqeri denounced pro-Jalili demonstrations. Jalilists are infighting. A new future envisioned by the Amal-rooted Qasem Soleimani faction and the Syria-rooted Hajizadeh circle is coming – for a secular revolutionary transformation of Iran along the Amal pattern.
The Zolqadr Ouster Zolqadr and Mohsen Rezaei have been decades-long close allies. The promotion of Rezaei against Zolqadr is an intelligence provocation to destroy this alliance and sow jealousy among friends. Qalibaf is pushing Mohsen Rezaei against the latter's own ally, in a salami-tactical way. Zolqadr is a fascist MIR extremist whom the CIA wanted to bring to power. That was one of the aims of the Larijani assassination. Mohsen Rezaei replacing him removes yet another of the agents of 'Ansar e Hezbollah' and 'Stability Front' from the midst, replacing it with an MIR asset less extreme in official line and strongly critical of Jalili. After Zolqadr, Ahmad Vahidi and Jalili are next. Once they are out or subdued, they will be deployed against the neoliberal flank of MIR network – i.e. against Mohsen Rezaei himself and against the Rouhani-Zarif bloc.

Iran's ultra-hardline Kayhan newspaper exposes Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's very friendly ties to OSS general Richard Frye, adding that Ahmadinejad's goal was to promote his pan-Iranist ideology as a force in opposition to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran's Principlist YJC reported likewise, citing Kayhan. 👉 Kayhan was a staunchly pro-Ahmadinejad newspaper but turned against Ahmadinejad when the latter began leading a pan-Iranist opposition movement. 👉 The average IRGC general privately dislikes the Islamist system and merely serves under the banner of the Welayat el-Faqih as a way to influence the system from within. Knowing this, the agent-provocateur Ahmadinejad flip-flopped from his depraved Khomeinite radical stance in 2010 and tried to demagogically appeal to the IRGC officers by cultivating a pan-Iranist image of himself. 👉 The OSS was anti-fascist from 1941 to December 1942. However, it allied with Nazi Germany since the Battle of Stalingrad, when the tide turned in favour of Soviets.
Most of the factional struggle in the IRGC itself has been between: (1) the ones originating in the Amal, the Syrian Army, and the Free Officers, vs. (2) the ones originating in the MEK, Fatah, and SAVAK. The first group was foremost in fighting for Iran against American-Israeli coalition and Saddamite Iraq. Yet, they were also playing salami tactics against the (fundamentalist part of the) Islamic Republic system: promoting a semi-rogue mulla against the mullaic establishment.
This is a softer version of "salami tactics." 👆
🇪🇺 Top NATO think tank: IRGC alliance with Khamenei was aimed at liquidating the powers of the "religious establishment."
Such content is a blow against the NATO-IDF-Pahlavist narrative that the war on IRGC is aimed at overthrowing the mullas. It is also a blow against the Khomeinist propaganda line, spread by undercover MEK accounts, that the mulla stratum is doing the good work of overthrowing the US empire. Duly deploy this rocket against both flanks of the enemy.
Since the 1990s, the American intelligence therefore imposed and tightened sanctions on the IRGC. The US began a program of secretly evading anti-Iran sanctions in order to trade with the mullas -- led foremost by Rafsanjani -- as a way to strengthen the mullaic stratum.
🇮🇷 US intelligence (Wikileaks): Since the 1990s transformations, the IRGC has turned against the mulla stratum that corruptly dominates Iran's economy. They therefore began to seize parts of the economy at the expense of the mullas.
Someone asked: "Didn’t Nasser sponsor the Fedayeen?" Answer: "Gamal Abdel-Nasser supported the operations in Gaza against Israel after 1967. He opposed the Palestinian operations on other frontiers because he saw them as at best demagogical if not outright counter-productive. "The Fatah co-founder and PLO intelligence chief Salah Khalaf Abu Iyad, in his memoirs, recounted that the Egyptian state security detained the proto-Fatah commander Khalil Al-Wazir (Abu Jihad) after the latter's anti-Israeli operations via Gaza. The proto-Fatah's operations often avoided Israeli military targets and were attacks on kibbutz farms. "However, as Abu Iyad correctly recalled, the Palestinians, in part led by the proto-Fatah cells, launched a colour revolutionary uprising against the Nasserist state because of its alleged 'anti-Palestinian' attitude. Only after that did Gamal Abdel-Nasser agree to allow the proto-Fatah operatives, whom he had ordered to be arrested, to be incorporated into Egyptian Army. When the latter infiltrate the Army, they began their typical idiotic operations again, which provided the Ben-Gurion group the pretext for war against revolutionary Egypt. "Arafat remained distrusted by the Egyptian authorities and thus eventually had to escape to Kuwait, wherein the Fatah was founded. "Abdel-Nasser's debate with Salah Jadid was precisely over the Fatah operations in the Golan, operations which Abdel-Nasser opposed. The Egyptian President did fund the operations in Gaza, however, as the more proletarianized Gaza mounted a real armed resistance against the IDF, rather than engage in demagogical, adventurist and terror operations."
