What makes you feel the exam is difficult? Overwhelming volume of syllabus and slow learning pace would be an answer that atleast 90% of students would agree on. Would you want to have a session on how to increase your speed of learning? Tell me in comment if you wants session and any issue in learning you want to get addressed specifically.

For students who will be writing Mains 2026. SOS practice:
All are talking about content, very few about mindset. The same reflects in how students prepare. But it is evident from UPSC Pre 2026, your emotional control and presence of mind under pressure decide performance as much as knowledge. If you are willing to build that muscle that keeps you calm and perform in tough situations.. be it Prelims or when you are in services.. HOP ON! Stay here on telegram Watch the videos from YT channel https://youtube.com/@theupsccoach Subscribe if it rings a bell and wish to stay connected. PS: These channels are NOT monetized. It runs 100% on the WISH to help sincere students utilize their true potential.

Why I wouldn’t agree with your claims that exam was unfair! If by ‘Unfair’, you mean emotionally painful.. because a single paper impacting years of effort.. it’s brutal, emotionally unfair. No arguments there. But if by ‘Unfair’, you mean it’s impossible to crack.. I think we need to look deeper. Because many clear it consistently, so it’s definitely not impossible. I think it means for you: - that your preparation didn’t match what came - that you were shocked - that you lost control - that you feel you don’t know what works now! We will address that separately. But realise that why it felt unfair. Generally high-stake situations rarely feel fair: investing in stocks, setting up business, working in corporate, being an artist : and mind you, they take as much effort. But the more important question is: is this a game whose rules can be understood and adapted to? If yes, then the response is strategy - not helplessness. A secret belief in many students is: If the exam were fair, hard work should guarantee success. That belief is dangerous. Because competition doesn’t work that way. Hard work gives probability. Not entitlement. That sounds harsh, but it true. Because now the question becomes ‘How do I improve my odds? How do I suck less at the game with each passing day?’ instead of ‘Why didn’t the universe reward me?’ If after enough reflection, you genuinely feel the process aligns with your temperament, values or risk and cost tolerance, stepping away is a valid decision. That’s not weakness, that’s strategic action in life. Some people thrive in uncertainty, some don’t. Fairness is not the question that helps you most. Agency is. Because: “Is this fair?” often creates helplessness. “What can I control now?” creates movement. I understand and validate your pain but not victimhood.
Irrespective how your exam went.. for the next few days.. DECOMPRESS - Walk/Play/Exercise - Meet friends/family - Go on a trip (see more wider views) No doomscrolling, no excessive screens, no paper analysis For your mental health.. burn the cortisol that has gotten accumulated in your brain.
I am not sure if UPSC tested your knowledge.. but it definitely tested your patience and mindset today. And today, I am more sure than ever that what I am trying to help students with is the most essential skill of the time.
My Best Wishes to You for Prelims! 🍀 Try to Sleep, even if not, mind is strong enough to run for 1 day at its best capacity. Relax and Enjoy the last leg of the process.
