Gandhara: Buddha no Seisen (仏陀の聖戦) (1987-1988) by Enix for MSX and other home computers. Cover illustration art by Shintaro Majima. The game is a Buddhist themed action RPG. Like The Legend of Zelda, the main character goes to different shrines and receives blessings from Buddhist deities and Bodhisattva whereby he restores dharma.
Tibetan monk making tsa-tsas out of water, 1926. "Actually, you create even more merit by making the images in the water than in clay. This water, which you’ve just blessed by stamping an image of the Buddhas in it, flows on for miles and miles, joining streams and rivers and eventually flowing into the ocean. Every sentient being that tastes or touches this water is blessed by it: all the water becomes blessed. And you can imagine how many sentient beings there are in the ocean. In fact, you think about it, the vast majority of all living beings on this planet live in the ocean, so what a wonderful way to benefit them." ~ Geshe Lama Konchog

Those who conceive of the spiritual as a purely ethereal realm, completely separate from the tangible, betray the fact that they consider it nothing more than a slightly sophisticated form of childish imaginary fantasy.

Marco Polo as an Arhat This life-size statue of the 13th Century venetian explorer Marco Polo as an enlightened arhat could be found in Guangzhou Temple's 華林寺 500 arhat hall. It was destroyed alongside the remaining arhat statues during the cultural revolution. There is a smaller copy of unclear origin at the Correr Museum in Venice.

tl;dr:
Earlier this year, encouraged by the instructions of several vajra masters, I decided to embark on a year-long quest to create, consecrate, and bury as many earth vases as possible. Today, I am finishing the last of a fifteen earth-vase batch. Earth vases are not mere offerings, nor do they just improve the immediate area in which they are buried: By creating peace between the local deities and humans, and balancing the four elements, they benefit the entire geomantic grid of the rose-apple continent. Thanks to this effect, they are of utmost importance in counteracting the negative prophecies of the Year of the Iron Dog and ushering in the Golden Age. Earth vases must be carefully assembled using natural materials, as synthetics may often displease the land spirits. They must then be filled with various scrolls containing mantras, precious and semi-precious stones and metals, jewelry, fine fabrics, as well as grains and traditional medicines, sealed with beeswax, and finally consecrated in a ceremony during the correct astrological conditions before being buried in the appropriate geomantic fields. To keep this effort going strong throughout the coming year, I request recitations of any and all mantras, dharanis, and prayers, especially the Kalachakra and Vajra Guru mantras, as well as any help that can be provided, whether by shipping me any of the necessary materials to assemble and fill the vases (list provided below) or donations via paypal (vajra.dharmaraja@gmail.com). It’s important to clarify, even without donations, I’ll keep creating, consecrating and burying earth vases through the upcoming years all the way up to 2030, it’ll just be at a slower/smaller rate. List of materials: - Clay jars - Shellac - Any yellow mineral pigment - Beeswax - Papyrus/Parchment/Vellum - Fine fabric (silk, etc.) - Exotic woods - Precious or semi-precious stones (lapis lazuli, jade, turquoise, onyx, etc.) - Precious or semi-precious metals (bronze/brass, copper, silver, gold) - Any jewelry from the aforementioned materials (please be careful to not include any objects made from iron alloys) - Traditional medicine - Naga medicine, as well as shedding from snakes or other reptiles - Sacred and/or consecrated substances, objects and amulets
