Abstract of the talk: The Black–Scholes model is a cornerstone of financial mathematics, providing closed-form derivative pricing under constant drift and volatility assumptions. However, it cannot capture market regime changes, structural breaks, or stochastic volatility. The Regime-Switching Geometric Brownian Motion (RS-GBM) model extends this framework by allowing asset dynamics to switch across different market regimes governed by a continuous-time Markov chain, offering a more flexible approach for derivative pricing. This talk reviews the mathematical foundations of derivative pricing and develops a pricing framework for futures contracts under the RS-GBM model. Our analytical approach is based on the Feynman–Kac representation for regime-switching diffusion processes, which transforms the pricing problem into a hybrid PDE system. Numerical results obtained using the Euler–Maruyama method and Monte Carlo simulation verify the theoretical results and demonstrate the impact of regime switching on asset price dynamics and futures prices.
