The competition focuses on Cambodian national laws and the Cambodian judicial system, providing students with an opportunity to develop practical legal knowledge and courtroom skills. Benefits of Participating Participants will have the opportunity to: • Gain a deeper understanding of Cambodian criminal court procedures and the different stages of criminal proceedings. • Visit relevant institutions, including courts, the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia, law firms, and the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC). • Receive specialized training from legal professionals and experts. • Conduct legal research on relevant laws and facts, and analyze legal issues in order to protect the lawful rights and interests of clients. • Learn how to develop an appropriate defense theory, including requesting an acquittal or mitigation of punishment. • Develop questioning techniques, confidence, and advocacy skills for courtroom proceedings. • Learn effective methods for preparing and delivering closing arguments and statements. · Opportunity for the Winning Team; The first-place winning team will be selected to represent ELBBL-RULE in the 2026 ECCC Moot Court Competition organized in connection with the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC).
