  • Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing really well. I’ve missed you guys a lot and I truly hope we’ll get to catch up again soon. Today I wanted to share something that’s been on my mind for quite a long time now. I was probably one of the first Ethiopian traders to openly teach ICT concepts publicly — way before it became more widespread. Because of that, I feel I owe it to you to be honest about where I stand now. Yes, ICT concepts can work — just like many other strategies can. But after years of deep study, I no longer believe it’s the best or most practical way to trade… especially for beginners. There are far simpler, more straightforward paths to becoming consistently profitable. While a very small number of his students have done well, the reality is that most people who follow ICT — and honestly, even ICT himself — have struggled badly and aren’t profitable traders. I learned directly from one of his private charter students about 4 years ago (after paying a very large amount), and I studied his material intensely from around 2016 until 2022. I probably went deeper down that rabbit hole than most of the people now teaching ICT concepts. So when I say this, it comes from real experience, not just surface-level opinion. I’m not here to attack anyone or sell you anything. Most of you who’ve known me for a while know I’ve always tried to be straight-up and genuine about trading. All I want to say is this: If ICT hasn’t been working for you… if you’ve been studying it for years and you’re still losing or feeling stuck — please give yourself permission to let it go. Move on to something that actually clicks for you and produces results. I’m happy to say I’ve completely stepped away from it. I am not an ICT trader anymore. I trade with my own approach now — one that has nothing to do with his concepts — and it’s been working well for me for quite some time. Wishing you all the best of luck on your journeys. Trade smart and take care of yourselves. Talk soon 💙 @borkenatrading

  • Hey everyone, long time no see! Just wanted to share a quick update: we're more likely than not heading into a recession—confirmation expected in about two weeks. I've sold all my BTC holdings and plan to start buying again between June and November 2026 using a dollar-cost averaging strategy. While I’m still actively trading FX, I’ve become increasingly focused on long-term investing in crypto. Let’s reconnect at the bottom and, hopefully, ride the wave together back to an all-time high. Wishing you all a successful trading year! @Borkenatrading

  • I just looked at EURNZD & EURAUD. Super sexy for a short. Put that top on the list for the week. But wait for A retracement to the 50% fib retracement on the daily time frame. Will talk about this on next weekend's video. @Borkenatrading

  • 2026 will be the year we hit rock bottom on indices and bitcoin. Trump or someone will find a way to the recession. @borkenatrading

  • Knowing the direction doesn't mean having a trade. Not a single trade for two weeks for me. Not even busy. Just doesn't see anything interesting yet. I am convinced that NZDCAD is going to stretch higher before a long-term lower. On EURGBP, I am not touching it below 50% of the range on the current price leg. The indices, as well, are very bullish just like we said. Indices will hit all-time highs this year. BTC too will hit 110k very easily. @borkenatrading

  • Update: NZDCAD stays guilty until proven innocent. We focus now on EURGBP. Leave NZDCAD alone for now! @borkenatrading

  • What's up people. It was a no trading week for me as you can imagine. Price did exactly what we said but no entry. My analysis remains the same. Expecting bearish momentum to continue on NZDCAD & EURGBP. This coming week will very very much likely give us big mega trades on these pairs. Happy holidays!!!!!!!!! @borkenatrading

  • Not entry yet on both EURGBP & NZDCAD. Our analysis was right. Like I said in the video, this week is Where you need to be patient. Probaby might not even get entry even if we know the direction. That is tough. That is trading. @borkenatrading

  • A little bit high risk, but I will probably place a trade on EURGBP tommorow. Either london or newyork session. There is GPB news tommorow morning at 3:00 local time. @borkenatrading

  • Walking the talk. EURCHF and USCAD sells front this week. I closed USDCAD early to avoid roll over market gap and possible breach of my funded account. @borkenatrading

  • That being said, the Swiss franc (CHF), Japanese yen (JPY), and US dollar (USD) are traditionally considered safe-haven currencies. Given that we're currently in a risk-off market environment, it's no surprise to see JPY and CHF strengthening. However, the current situation presents an interesting puzzle: the US Dollar Index (DXY) has been falling despite the risk-off sentiment—a move that contradicts typical market behavior. This unexpected development has left many traders, including myself, questioning the dynamics at play. Initially, I had anticipated that the euro (EUR) would weaken and the DXY would strengthen under these conditions. Yet, the opposite has occurred. Meanwhile, JPY pairs have been plummeting dramatically, and CHF pairs have been experiencing sharp declines—further reinforcing the safe-haven demand for these currencies. This is precisely why I took a sell position on EUR/CHF during the London session, as mentioned yesterday. The pair has been moving as expected, and I’ll continue monitoring the trade. For a deeper analysis, I’ll be releasing a recap video along with a forecast for the coming week over the weekend. Stay tuned for further insights! @borkenatrading

  • Understanding Risk-On vs. Risk-Off: Key Lessons for Developing Traders The financial markets constantly oscillate between two dominant moods: risk-on and risk-off. Recognizing these conditions early is crucial for traders, as it allows for better strategy adjustments, capital protection, and opportunistic gains. Here’s a breakdown of what these terms mean, how to identify them, and their implications for trading. Risk-On Market Conditions In a risk-on environment, investors are optimistic and eager to take on higher risk for potentially greater returns. Characteristics: -Strong demand for riskier assets like stocks (especially growth sectors), commodities (oil, copper), cryptocurrencies, and emerging market currencies (MXN, BRL). -Lower interest in safe havens such as gold, the US dollar (USD), Japanese yen (JPY), and government bonds. -Rising bond yields (as investors sell bonds to buy riskier assets). -Increased leverage and speculative trading. Triggers: -Positive economic data (strong GDP, low unemployment). -Dovish central bank policies (low interest rates, quantitative easing). -Geopolitical stability or strong corporate earnings. Risk-Off Market Conditions In a risk-off scenario, investors become cautious and shift capital toward safer, more stable assets. Characteristics: -Flight to safety, with increased demand for USD, JPY, Swiss franc (CHF), gold, and government bonds. -Decline in risky assets, including stocks (especially high-beta sectors) and most commodities (except gold, which often rises). -Bond prices rise (yields fall) as demand increases. Triggers: -Economic slowdowns or recessions. -Geopolitical tensions (wars, trade conflicts). -Financial crises (bank failures, debt defaults). -Hawkish central bank policies (aggressive rate hikes). -Unexpected shocks (pandemics, natural disasters). How to Identify Market Sentiment To determine whether the market is in risk-on or risk-off mode, monitor these key indicators: S&P 500 → Rising = Risk-On | Falling = Risk-Off VIX (Volatility Index) → Low = Risk-On | High = Risk-Off USD/JPY → Rising = Risk-On | Falling = Risk-Off Gold Prices → Falling = Risk-On | Rising = Risk-Off 10-Year Treasury Yields → Rising = Risk-On | Falling = Risk-Off @borkenatrading
