  • 📣 ARBAʿEEN LECTURES STARTING THIS FRIDAY! Please join us this Arbaʿeen for a five-part lecture series by *Dr Syed Ali Hur Kamoonpuri exploring the "Manifestations of Qurʾānic Beauty in Karbala and its Aftermath,” running from 31st July to 4th August 2026* at Al-Mahdi Institute. Through the eyes of Sayyidah Zaynab (as), the series explores Karbala through a Qurʾānic and intellectual lens — from the philosophy of remembering the righteous, to the meaning of true beauty in the face of tragedy, to the dangers of mistaking majority opinion for truth, and worldly power for divine approval. Evening Programmes: 🕐 31st July – 3rd August from 7:30pm (BST) Arbaʿeen Day Programme: 🕐 Tuesday, 4th August from 1:30pm (BST) 🔗 Join us in person at AMI or stream the lectures live: ami.is/arbaeen-live 💛 Donate towards the programmes: ami.is/arbaeen-donate

  • Did Allah choose every detail for the Prophet ﷺ? Some say every word, action, place, and decision of the Prophet ﷺ had to be directly revealed by Allah. But does the Qurʾān itself teach that? Are there clear verses where the Prophet ﷺ made a decision — and Allah then guided him to what was better? Not to lower the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — but to understand his greatness with Qurʾānic balance. https://youtu.be/ahgweyg60xg

  • https://youtu.be/tNCrwC7l7w0 Everyone speaks about the mission of Imām al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام). We all love al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام), but have we asked what kind of faith he was calling us back to? Did he define faith through long sectarian lists—or through a simple belief that the entire Muslim Ummah could recognise? If we truly want a Ḥusaynī ʿAqīdah, should we not begin with the ʿAqīdah of al-Ḥusayn himself?

  • https://youtu.be/wJs3RiiHMlc Can a Muslim fall into serious error, and still remain our brother in faith? Imām ʿAlī (عليه السلام) was not soft on falsehood. He confronted those who rebelled against him. Yet even then, he called them “our brothers in Islam.” If one of the greatest personalities in Islam and one of the most learned students of the Messenger (Saww), could oppose the deviations which some Muslims fell into without expelling them from the Ummah, what should that teach us today? Where does refuting falsehood end, and sectarianism begin?

  • https://youtu.be/J3ffeL6cjZU Would the early Shīʿah really allow their hands and legs to be cut off just to visit Imām al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام)? This story is often repeated to inspire devotion—and sometimes to make people feel guilty for not going to Ziyārah. But where does it actually come from? What have learned Shīʿī scholars themselves said about it? And does something as sacred as Ziyārah need false stories to defend it? Isn't the truth of Imām al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام) powerful enough without myths.

  • 📣 Research Seminar Tomorrow _Should Classical Rijāl Still Judge Later Imāmī Doctrine?_ Join Dr Syed Ali Hur Kamoonpuri for a research seminar examining the relationship between classical Rijāl, later Imāmī doctrine, and contemporary ʿIlm al-Rijāl, through case studies of contested narrators from both scholarly traditions. 🖥️ Live online and in person (AMI) 🎟️ Free registration 🗓 Wednesday 15th July 2026 🔗 Details and registration: https://spoo.me/SAH

  • What should a scholar do when speaking honestly may cost him his voice? Should difficult questions be engaged with sincere dialogue and evidence — or through avoidance, isolation, and unofficial bans? And is any mimbar worth compromising what one sincerely believes to be true from the Qurʾān and Sunnah? The mimbar is only a means. Sincerity before Allah is the goal: https://youtu.be/AatemmAN_PE

  • Ashura between Mourning and Realisation Today, we commemorate the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS), and this sacrifice will be remembered until the Day of Judgment. Yet, we have failed to understand its true purpose. We have come to believe that our ultimate duty is merely to mourn and weep for him, forgetting that we are focusing on what he sacrificed while neglecting the cause for which he made that sacrifice. May Allah open our eyes to understand the true aims and objectives of Karbala. Ameen. Maulana Sayyed Qasim Mujtaba Kamoonpuri

  • Why were two young companions crying on the Day of ʿĀshūrāʾ? Not out of fear. Not for themselves. But because they saw Imām al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام) surrounded, alone, and they felt powerless to defend him. Yet their tears did not turn into defeat. They wiped their eyes, gave salām to the son of Rasūlullāh ﷺ, and walked forward. A short but powerful reflection on what our tears for Ḥusayn (عليه السلام) are meant to become. https://youtu.be/ds4R2n8EjMg

  • Everyone speaks about the mission of Imām al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام). But have we asked what kind of faith he was calling us back to? We all love al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام), so in his own final words, what ʿAqīdah did he teach us? Is it the same as the ʿAqīdah Sunnīs and Shīʿah believe in today? https://youtu.be/PdmbcBmrnKk

  • Alhamdulillah, after receiving so many messages and on request from our audience, we’re honored to release the Urdu Majlis Series by senior Maulana Sayed Qasim Mujtaba Kamoonpuri on The Mission of Imam Hussain AS. Watch now: https://youtu.be/oX08YpUfi8o?si=AoEFNr0H0wm8zXOA A deep series reflecting on the purpose, sacrifices, and timeless message of Karbala.

  • Are we just another sectarian identity, another label, another camp? If the answer is not a sectarian destination, then what really is the goal of Al-Islaah? The goal is to return to the way of the Ahl al-Bayt (عليهم السلام). So ask yourself: To whom, and how, did the Ahl al-Bayt turn in their darkest moments? And are we still reflecting that today? https://youtu.be/siLgGhWlo5U

  • What if the location of Ghadīr is itself part of the evidence? If Ghadīr was the announcement of a new article of faith — a salvational doctrine binding on every Muslim — why was it not proclaimed at ʿArafāt, the one place no pilgrim could afford to miss? If every prophetic decision was directly chosen by Allah, why does the Qurʾān order him ﷺ to exercise Shūrā and show him exercising judgement under divine guidance? Not to weaken love for Imām ʿAlī (عليه السلام), nor to deny his right to the Caliphate — but to ask whether Ghadīr is a salvational doctrine, and what it was actually meant to establish: https://youtu.be/HNC1zuEnfrU?si=9TMrUDf3_8XO_jGs

  • The Early Shia View What if the question is not whether Ghadir happened — but how Imam ʿAlī (عليه السلام) himself understood it? Why do some of the biggest questions about Divine Imamah arise from none other than Imam ʿAlī’s own conduct? This lecture is not to weaken the love for Imam ʿAlī (عليه السلام) — but to ask whether our understanding of Ghadir truly reflects his own (عليه السلام): https://youtu.be/-nLR6Kn8gPI?si=5o5DhkBFiL_7UQo1
