Here's what's actually happening: Google's Verily (life sciences division) is seeking EPA approval to release Wolbachia-infected MALE mosquitoes in California & Florida. 🔬 THE SCIENCE: • Male mosquitoes DON'T bite—only females do • These males carry Wolbachia, a naturally occurring bacteria • When they mate with wild females, the eggs don't develop • This reduces disease-carrying mosquito populations over time ✅ TARGET: Aedes aegypti mosquitoes (vectors for dengue, Zika, chikungunya, yellow fever) ⏰ TIMELINE: 32 million released over 2 years pending EPA approval (comment period closes June 5) This is a creative solution to pesticide-resistant mosquitoes. የመድኃኒት ደህንነት ማስጠንቀቂያ የኢትዮጵያ የምግብና መድኃኒት ባለሥልጣን  RELIEF የሚባል ሕገወጥ መድኃኒት (በውስጡ ዲክሎፌናክ፣ ፓራሲታሞል፣ ክሎረፊኒራሚን  እና ማግኒዥየም ትራይሲሊኬት እንዳለው ይገመታል) በኢትዮጵያ ገበያ እየተዘዋወሩ መሆኑን ተደርሶበታል። ይህ መድኃኒት በሕጋዊ መንገድ በባለስልጣን መስሪያ ቤታችን ያልተመዘገበ በመሆኑ ጥራቱ፣ ደህንነቱና ውጤታማነቱ አይታወቅም።በተጨማሪም ፣ የዚህ መድኃኒት የጎንዮሽ ጉዳቶች የምግብ ፍላጎት ማጣት ፣ ተቅማጥ ፣ የሆድ ህመም ፣ ማቅለሽለሽ ፣ ማስታወክ ፣ እንቅልፍ ማጣት ፣ ድካም፤ የእይታ መዛባት፤ መፍዘዝ ፣ ራስ ምታት ፣ የቆዳ ሽፍታ ፣ የጉበት ኢንዛይሞች መጨመርና ለረጅም ጊዜ ጥቅም ላይ ሲውል የኩላሊት ጉዳትን ያጠቃልላል።  ጥናቶች እንደሚያሳዩት ይህንን መድኃኒት ለረጅም ጊዜ መጠቀም ከባድ የጉበት፣ የኩላሊት ጉዳት፣ የልብ ድካም እና ስትሮክ የመያዝ እድልን ከፍ ሊያደርግ ይችላል። በመሆኑም ህብረተሰቡ ይህንን መድኃኒት ከመጠቀም እንዲቆጠብ እያሳሰብን መድኃኒቱን በአካባቢዎት ካገኙ በነጻ ስልክ ቁጥር 8482 ደውለው ለኢትዮጵያ የምግብና የመድኃኒት ባለስልጣን ወይም ለክልል ጤና ተቆጣጣሪ አካላት እንዲጠቁሙ በአክብሮት እንጠይቃለን። Stay connected: 📩 @ETVitals 🔗 @PublicHealthET
