❗️The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan strongly condemns the terrorist attack carried out on August 2 in the vicinity of the Kabal Police Station in the Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We emphasize the need to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. We hope that those responsible for these heinous acts will be identified and brought to justice. 🕯We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk has announced the launch of negotiations between the Eurasian Economic Union (#EAEU) and Pakistan on establishing a free trade zone. 💬 Speaking on the sidelines of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on August 6, 2026, he said: “Our expert groups have held joint consultations with Pakistan (...), and we expect substantive negotiations on a free trade zone to begin in the near future.“

🇷🇺🇵🇰 On July 25, students from Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB I-8/3) arrived in Russia to take part in an educational program at the Stasova International Education Center “Interdom” in the city of Ivanovo. During their stay, the Pakistani students will have the opportunity to further develop their Russian language skills, which they have been sharpening throughout the academic year, deepen their knowledge of Russian history and culture, and engage with fellow participants from Vietnam, Laos, China, Mongolia, and Ethiopia. Interdom has prepared an exciting and diverse program for the students, including Russian language lessons, creative competitions, intellectual games, sports activities, and excursions to Moscow and the cities of Russia’s Golden Ring. The project is organized by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation with the support of the Embassy of Russia in Pakistan. #RussiaPakistan

Ambassador Albert P. Khorev's Comment to the Russian Newspaper “Izvestia”(August 8, 2026) ❓️ Are Russia and Pakistan working on launching a pilot freight railway route along the Minsk–Moscow–Karachi corridor? If so, what is the current status of the project? 💬 Albert P. Khorev: Together with our Pakistani partners, we are working on launching the first freight railway route along the Moscow–Faisalabad and Moscow–Karachi corridors in both directions. The possibility of involving the Belarusian side in the project is also being considered. Due to the escalation of geopolitical tensions in the region in 2025 and early 2026, the implementation of the project has been postponed several times. 🤝 At present, the parties are finalizing the contract for the provision of services and identifying companies in the countries along the proposed route that are interested in transporting their goods. #RussiaPakistan

🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview with TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov (Moscow, July 29, 2026) Key points: • As for our “Western partners’” constant attempts to deceive Russia, our patience eventually runs out. It was no coincidence that, shortly after the start of the special military operation, President of Russia Vladimir Putin summed up our relations with the West and Europe by saying: “There is no going back to the way things were before February 2022”. • The slogans of inflicting a “strategic defeat on our country”, of “decolonising Russia” have resurfaced in the West – once again, an explicit euphemism for breaking up our country. We see clearly what the West is plotting, and everyone needs to see this in order to understand that the situation is serious. President of Russia Vladimir Putin makes no secret of it. The entire self-proclaimed “civilised” world has risen against us. • Now that Zelensky, while steadily retreating in Donbass and on other fronts, has turned in desperation to outright terrorist acts, and the West sees that many of his long-range weapons are reaching their targets, they have begun promoting this phase of the conflict as a “turning point” – as proof that “Ukrainian resolve can ultimately defeat Russia”. • Russia is making daily progress on the front line – not as quickly as we might wish, but while preserving the lives of our servicemen. Ukraine (and its Western handlers) is trying to compensate for its failures on the battlefield by carrying out terrorist attacks aimed at disrupting the way of life people have grown accustomed to. • I am very proud that our people understand the current situation correctly – as our history and those who defeated Nazism taught us. All the more so because today we are fighting the direct followers and descendants of those Nazis, with essentially the same forces aligned against us. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz openly says that Germany intends to become Europe’s leading power once again. If you are prepared to speak so openly, then be prepared for the consequences. • Russia's national interests in foreign affairs are to remain a sovereign power and an independent civilisation, to ensure the reliable security of our borders and to make sure that no one even considers telling us how to organise life within Russia. • Russia's principal national quality is something the West lacks. Our civilisation respects its ancestors – those who created it, built its cities and defeated its enemies. • The West is now telling us that it will still decide when the time is right to resume negotiations. They envisage talks at one table involving Europe, the US, Zelensky and President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Before that, they insist on a truce and a ceasefire. The Western countries would then deploy multinational forces led by France and Britain and only afterwards sit down for talks. What does that mean? It is an ultimatum. The front line would be frozen, while the Nazi regime would remain in place. • We must rely solely on ourselves, as our President has repeatedly stressed. The events unfolding now have grave consequences. But I want to reiterate: we are completing the work of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who defeated Nazism – while our former allies allowed it to survive and take root once again. ✨️ On August 6, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev hosted an informal tea discussion with Pakistani and Indonesian students representing CAPES and several Pakistani universities, including National Defence University, Quaid-i-Azam University, National University of Modern Languages, International Islamic University and Lahore College for Women University. The Ambassador welcomed the students' keen interest in studying Russia, its history, and its foreign policy. During the meeting, the participants took the opportunity to ask questions about the history and future prospects of Russia–Pakistan relations, educational opportunities for Pakistani students in Russia, and the situation in the Middle East and South Asia. 🇷🇺🇵🇰 In response, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev underscored the traditionally friendly nature of bilateral relations and highlighted the constructive cooperation between Russia and Pakistan within the SCO. ⚡️ Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus have published their third Joint Report on the human rights situation in selected countries. 👉 Read the Report in full From the address to readers by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Dmitry Lyubinsky and Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Igor Sekreta: The universal nature of human rights means that people of any nationality, race, sex, age and state of health have the right to a dignified life regardless of what they believe in, whom they love, or any other characteristics. The universality of human rights also means that they must be respected across the globe, in every country, without manipulations based on double standards. One cannot pretend that problems do not exist, or hush them up, while at the same time interfering in the internal affairs of sovereign states in an attempt to impose the notorious “rules-based order” – rules that run counter to the norms and principles of international law enshrined in universally recognised international documents. This is precisely the approach we call on our colleagues from the countries covered in this report to follow. *** The third joint report by Foreign Ministries of Russia and Belarus on the human rights situation in selected countries, presented to experts and the public, is a clear example of close intergovernmental cooperation in the field of human rights and demonstrates the proximity of our countries’ positions on this important issue. The document is aimed at drawing attention to the challenges and threats facing today’s international community in the field of human rights. Above all, when describing the list of problems in the promotion and protection of human rights compiled in the report, one cannot fail to note the unchanged essence of these problems – namely, the so-called double standards that still persist and are even worsening in assessments of various human rights situations and phenomena. This approach is regularly used by the “collective West” to fuel confrontation, pressure sovereign states and interfere in their internal affairs, as shown in the relevant country sections of the report. Through their increasingly brazen approaches to interpreting human rights, Western countries completely negate their own rhetoric about the universality of these rights. Another feature of the current situation is the scaling back of social obligations and the militarisation of entire sectors of the economy – all under the pretext of the notorious external threat. Such “narratives”, as they are now commonly called, are widespread in the Baltic states, Poland, Ukraine and Moldova, whose economies are rapidly degrading. Germany, France, Britain and a number of other countries of the “Old and New World” are following the same path. *** ❗️Another matter of grave concern is the resurgence of racism and racial discrimination. We have repeatedly stated at international human rights forums and in thematic reports that racist ideas and “values” are being openly promoted in a number of countries, while national radicals are being glorified. Such approaches are destroying the principles and manifestations of humanism in international politics, erasing established notions of normality and permissibility, and effectively laying the groundwork for a new public morality based on inequality, discrimination and the possibility of eliminating those deemed undesirable. The numerous examples from the present and the past compiled in the report convincingly confirm the importance – indeed, the imperative – of consolidating the efforts of the entire constructively minded international community to successfully counter existing and emerging challenges and mitigate their negative consequences. #HumanRights
