Establishing the Shari’ah is a necessity. Whenever you mention an Islamic Country or Caliphate, people look at you like you’re delusional. Like you’re an idealistic child who hasn’t tasted the real world, who couldn’t possibly understand all of the “complex” matters and legitimate “ikhtilaf”. However, they couldn’t be more wrong. And these doubts and accusations being spread will no doubt weigh deeply on the scales of the Judgement Day. Let me put things into perspective for you: - Ruling with the law of Allah is the pinnacle of establishing tawhid upon this earth. Seeking legislation from Him and Him alone is from the greatest matters of tawhid al-uluhiyyah, and it encompasses tawhid ar-Rububiyyah. - The Hudud will be implemented. The Murtadd will be executed, the adulterer lashed, and thief’s hand will be cut. Drug dealers, prostitutes, and corrupt politicians will all be dealt with accordingly. Shops & work places will be closed during the prayers. The Jizya will be taken. Critics mouths will be forcibly shut, and their platforms would disappear. And most of all: no grave, no idol, no saint, no ideology, no Imam, and no flag will be worshipped besides Allah, the High & Mighty. - A pure, Islamic country will allow us to raise our youth upon the Prophetic creed. With our own curriculums, our own masajid & schools, and on our own terms. We’d plant the seeds of tawhid in our youth, and by this we’d cultivate an entire generation who’s life and death revolves around tawhid. - Enjoining good and forbidding evil. We’ve seen what happens when you stop enjoining good and forbidding evil, just take a look at most modern “Muslim” countries. Corruption has spread far and wide: Zina & sexual immorality, vile music being blasted outside of masajid, TVs playing filth outside Masjid an-Nabawi, and so much more. An Islamic Country would prevent this disaster from getting any worse. - An Islamic Country would educate people about modernistic deviant ideologies, such as secularism, liberalism, feminism, LGBTQ, nationalism, and so on. And this education would start from a young age, just as teaching the authentic creed will start at a young age. - The previous honor, the joy of our once glorious days will be returned. Wherever the Muslim walks, he walks with head held up high, and no one would dare to insult his religion. No one would even think about drawing cartoons of our beloved, may peace and blessings be upon him. So, establishing an Islamic Country should be an aspiration of every real Muslim. And the reality is, the one who opposes it’s establishment, and favors secularist laws over the Shari’ah, then he is an apostate. This is because he believes in another set of laws than the Qur’an, and believes them to be superior. And Allah knows best, and to Him belongs all praise.

When will the Islamic Caliphate return? The Khilafah is prophesied to return in five stages according to a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). These 5 stages begin with Prophethood, and the last stage is the Khilafah we all are awaiting. Let's begin with the first stage; 1) The Prophethood (an-Nubuwwah) This refers to the period when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was alive and leading the Muslim Ummah. 2) The Rightly Guided Caliphate (al-Khilafah al-Rashidah) This period lasted for approximately 30 years, and it was during the rule of the four Rightly Guided Caliphs (Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali). During this time, the Muslim Ummah was governed according to the principles and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). 3) The Biting Rule (Mulkan 'Aaddan) The “biting rule” refers to the misapplication of the taking of the pledge of allegiance, which was taken by force and then subsequently handed down by hereditary rule rather than by consent. This period is characterized by rulers who hold onto power as if they were biting onto it. This is why the scholars referred this period to be the inheritance rule, where every father was passing the throne onto his son. (kind of like a monarchy) This is the period that started with Mua’wiya (ra) who appointed his son Yazid to power. This period continued until 1924 when the last remains of the Ottoman Empire was dismantled and it was then replaced with the Pseudo-Democratic, Secular Nationalist states that exist today. 4) An Oppressive Rule (Mulkan Jabriyy) This stage began after the dismantling of the Ottoman Empire in 1924, which marked the end of the last remaining Caliphate. It is characterized by oppressive, pseudo-democratic, secular nationalist states that have caused turmoil and suffering among their people on an unprecedented scale. These states have replaced Islamic law with man-made laws and relegated the Shari'ah to the mosques and courts of Nikah. 5) The Return of the Rightly Guided Caliphate (Khilafah Alā Minhāj An-Nubuwwa) According to the hadith, the Muslim Ummah will eventually re-establish the prophesied Khilafah. This caliphate will be based on the teachings and principles of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This stage is yet to come, and it is only a matter of time before rhus Khilafah is reestablished, inshallah. To conclude, whether someone adopts that the third and fourth stage applies to the previous Khilafah. Or that only the third stage applies to the Khilafah and the fourth stage applies to our time today. Then this doesn’t change the fact that the Khilafah will return once again insha’Allah as mentioned in the fifth period of the hadith. Now here is the full hadith, with the reference: It was narrated by Ahmed in his Musnad, from Al-Nu’man b. Bashir, who said: “We were sitting in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah PBUH, and Bashir was a man who did not speak much, so Abu Tha’labah Al-Khashnee came and said: ‘Oh, Bashir bin Sa’ad, have you memorized the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding the rulers?’ Huthayfah replied, ‘I have memorized his words’. So Abu Tha’labah sat down and Huthayfah said, ‘There will be Prophethood for as long as Allah wills it to be, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be Khilafah on the Prophetic method and it will be for as long as Allah wills, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be biting rule (ملكًا عاضًا) for as long as Allah Wills, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be oppressive rule (ملكًا جبرية) for as long as Allah wills, then he will remove it when He wills, and then there will be Khilafah upon the Prophetic method.’ Then he (Salalahu Alayhi Wasalam) was silent.” رواه الإمام أحمد، وصححه الحافظ العراقي، وكذلك صححه الألباني.
