Island excursion Summer is coming to an end, so it’s time to enjoy even the last summer days to the fullest! It’s time for the annual island excursion☀️ Join us on the 9th of August for a breathtaking ride on the archipelago boat and a relaxing day on the island Stora Herrö with our fellow guild members! On the island we have the chance to enjoy its beautiful nature, do some grilling, swimming and bird-watching from the observation tower! 🌊🥓 Stora Herrö is one of the most beautiful recreational islands in the Espoo archipelago. It’s over 40 acres in size, and it has both rocky shores and beautiful forests, as well as sandy bays for swimming and sunbathing! The nature trails of the island lead to the highest point and there is an observation tower from where it is possible to observe the beautiful archipelago. The island also has good facilities: there are several cooking shelters, permanent fireplaces, and a toilet. 🔥 This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with Espoo’s public sea transport. This time, we are heading to Superterassi at Kasarmitori to participate in the Music Bingo organized on-site. Superterassi is an open area for everyone that combines the offerings of several different restaurants and beverage providers in the center of Helsinki. We will gather at the venue at 16:15, and the Music Bingo will start at 16:30. Admission to the event area is free. You can flexibly join later in the evening as well. 🍻 Näfterit: FIFA World Cup Viewing Party ⚽️ Summer continues, and the N-Committee is organizing the next Näfterit on Tuesday, July 7th. This time, we are heading out together to watch the FIFA World Cup round of 16 at the Coca-Cola Fan Zone, in front of the Musiikkitalo (Mannerheimintie 13a). Finland's first FIFA-licensed fan zone creates a great setting for watching the World Cup! The event area, which is open to everyone for free of charge, offers a diverse range of food and drinks and fun for all ages. We will gather at Narinkkatori at 18:00, from where we will head to the venue together. You can, of course, join independently later on. The match will kick off at 19:00. MTG Pauper Night 60 cards, only commons, and head-to-head. That is Pauper explained in a nutshell. Come play Pauper at a format trial session organized by the Computer Science Guild. If you have your own decks and can bring them for others to borrow, please list them when signing up. In accordance with the acknowledgement guideline, the group is responsible for proposing individuals to the guild's board for Silver, Golden, and ProTiK Merit Badges. Being part of the group offers a unique opportunity to implement and develop the guild's acknowledgement culture and activities. We wish guild members at the beginning of their active career would apply to the Honours and Awards committee. The application for becoming a member of the Honours and Awards committee is open until June 15th, so apply now! The term of a member of the Honours and Awards committee is 2 years.

Tietokilta's Summer Days 2026 It’s that time of the year again, the guild’s Summer Days are here! This time, Tietokilta's Summer Days will take place at the Kesärinne Camp in Tuusula from July 3rd to July 5th. The camp features its own local beach and great swimming opportunities! So, grab your ticket to the shores of Rusutjärvi and come enjoy the company of your fellow guild members! Tietokilta will provide a bus ride to the event on Friday and a return trip on Sunday. On Friday, the bus departs from the front of the Undergraduate Centre (Otakaari 1) at 16:45. For the return journey, the bus will leave on Sunday around 12:00, once the camp center has been cleaned up and left in good condition. The program for the weekend includes casual hanging out, sauna, swimming, grilling, yard games, and the board’s traditional summer meeting! The guild will mainly provide breakfast and light snacks, so it is highly recommended to bring your own grilling food and drinks. Water is provided on-site. As for accommodation, there are beds available for 60 people. The bus only has room for 50 people, meaning you are also welcome to come by car. In this case, fuel costs for carpooling can be reimbursed by the guild (however, this applies only after the bus is full). The 60-person capacity can also be expanded if people bring their own tents!
