  • 🔸What is Envy? How to Recognize It? Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Salih al-‘Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) said: Envy is a burning coal in the heart (from satan’s stirring) and Allah’s refuge is sought. [Sharh Riyaadh us-Saliheen, 6/249] 🔵What Do You Do When You Notice Satan Stirring Envy Within You? Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih al-'Uthaymin (rahimahullah) said: ‎When you see yourself disliking that Allah blesses other than you with knowledge, wealth, good character, good health or the likes of that (i.e., blessings), (then you) know/recognize that you have within you destructive jealousy/envy. (Then you must hate for it to be within yourself) and try to eradicate it. [Sharh Buloogh al-Mar’am, 15/200] 🟢Why Must You Not Envy? I have never envied anyone over anything: If a person is going to be in the Fire, how could I envy him over some worldly matter when he is destined for the Fire?! And if he is going to Paradise, how could I be envious of a man of Paradise with whom Allah is pleased?! [Muhammed ibn Sireen (Rahimahullah), Abu Bakr al-Daynoori (Rahimahullah), al-Mujalasah wa Jawaahir al-‘Ilm, 2931] 🔺It Was the First Evil That Caused Satan to Incur Allah’s Curse and Be Expelled: iblis said: “I was cursed because of my envy, and became a stoned (accursed) devil.” [Ibn Abee ad-Dunya (rahimahullah) in Maka’d al-Shaytaan, 65/44] ▫️It Was The First Sin Upon Earth With Which Satan Incited the Sons of Adam Hasad (destructive envy) was the first sin by which Allah the Exalted was disobeyed in the heavens, as iblis envied Adam. It was the first sin by which Allah was disobeyed on earth, as the son of Adam killed his brother. [Ibn Uyainah (rahimahullah), al-Mujaalasah wa Jawaahir al-‘Ilm, 667] 🔻In Reality. You Love All Your Muslim Brothers, So Know That Envy is From the Whispers of Satan (Not You) Unless You Act Upon It The righteous friend does not envy his brothers for what he sees of the signs of blessings that Allah has bestowed on them; rather he (heartfully) rejoices in that and praises Allah for whatever he sees of blessings that Allah has granted to them, as he would praise Him for blessings bestowed upon himself. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): Or do they envy people for what Allah has given them of His bounty? - an-Nisaa’ 4:54 The righteous friend deals with his brothers honourably, honestly and sincerely. Abu Sālih (rahimahullāh) said: The believer deals with you honourably, and guides you to what is best for you in religious and worldly terms, whereas the hypocrite deals with you through flattery and encourages you to do that which you desire (even if it is wrong and not good for you). The fortunate one whom Allah protects is the one who differentiates between the two. [Aadaab as-Suhbah, pg. 55 | al-Islām su’āl al-Jawāb, 138390] THE SOUND HEART Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said, "And the sound heart is the one which is secure from • shirk, • hatred, • jealousy, • envy, • covetousness, • pride, • love of the world and • leadership. So it is safe from every harmful thing which distances it from Allaah and it is safe from every doubt that contradicts His information (i.e., Quran). It is safe from every desire that opposes His command and from every wish that competes (repels) what He intends (from His servants), and it is also safe from everything that cuts it off from Allaah. So this sound and safe heart is in a paradise in this world and in a paradise in the barzakh and in a paradise on the Day of Resurrection. The heart's safety and soundness cannot be perfected, absolutely, until it is secure from five things: • From shirk which nullifies tawheed • From innovation which opposes the Sunnah • From a desire/lust that opposes the command (of Allaah) • From heedlessness that contradicts remembrance (of Him) • From a desire that nullifies purity and sincerity (in intent and purpose) [The Path To Guidance, ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (rahimahullah), pg. 50]

  • 🔖 *The Blessing of Well-Being* From the great blessings is that Allah سبحانه وتعالى repels many harms from us while we do not even notice. ▪️How many people wake up for tens of years while they are healthy and safe? How many thousands, rather millions of cars passed right beside you and did not hit you in an accident? How many insane people passed near you and did not harm you? How many punishments Allah sent down, yet they did not reach you and He saved you from them? ▪️So this chapter must be paid attention to: the chapter of repelling harms. We always say: How are you? And they reply: (Nothing new, routine, nothing special). But *the renewal of well-being is a very great blessing.* For example, take yesterday, the 16th. How many accidents happened in the world? How many calamities occurred? How many people entered prison? How many people died? How many people suffered kidney failure? How many people were diagnosed with cancer? How many people were struck with other trials? *Millions of people!* This is a very great chapter, and we must be aware of it: the chapter of repelling harms from the great blessings. Rather, sometimes repelling a harm is better and more deserving than a good thing you ask for. For example, a person asks Allah سبحانه وتعالى to relieve him of a debt of one thousand riyals, then he does not see the result of his dua, and he does not know that on that day Allah protected him from diseases, fears, viruses, oppressors, evil people and the wicked. He was protected from great harms. So when worries and grief surround a person, and he feels that his life is tight, then he should reflect on this side: the side of repelling harms and the well-being he is living in. He will find that he is in great blessings whose value he does not know. And therefore, when a person reflects, even sometimes a poor person, on the condition of some wealthy people, he finds that they have high bank balances but they are not truly wealthy. Among the merchants and wealthy ones are those who cannot eat rice, and those who cannot eat regular food. Their day goes between some vegetables and some fruits. If they dare to eat what we eat, they will spend the night in the hospital, and it may even end in death. So this chapter must always remain present in the mind, and it is a great chapter: *the chapter of repelling harms.* Some harms, if they afflict you, would cause more pain than not receiving what you asked for. And likewise, when we hear people saying: I always make dua but I am not answered, I am such and such... we remind them of this: the chapter of repelling harms and the well-being a person is in. And many problems that came down on the earth, Allah سبحانه وتعالى saved you from them and protected you. So this chapter is a chapter of great goodness which must be recognized, and a person should praise Allah سبحانه وتعالى, because we always look at what new blessing comes to us and we think that is the provision and the blessing. But what was repelled in return was much more. What was pushed away of harms is a lot, and it was turned away from us by the grace of Allah سبحانه وتعالى. We ask Allah for continuous protection and well-being. #مجالس_الأدب_المفرد *Stay Connected With Us-* ╭┈──── ••⇣⇣ ╰┈➢ _*Telegram*_ https://t.me/shykh_sami https://tinyurl.com/Shaykh-Sami

The 5 a.m. Club vs The 7 a.m. Club There are two types of parents. The 7 a.m. parent who looks at their child sleeping before Fajr and says: "He's tired. He has an important exam today. Let him sleep." They genuinely feel bad waking him. A short while later, it's 7 a.m. and time for school. The same child who "needed more sleep" is woken without hesitation. Lights on. Blanket off. If he doesn't get up, voices are raised. Sometimes he is dragged out of bed entirely. Because it's school time. It cannot be missed. The 5 a.m. parent also feels the same. They don't enjoy waking a sleepy child. They know he is tired. They wish they could let him sleep. But they wake him anyway. Not because they care less. But because they have heard the call of a caller and believed in it: الصلاة خير من النوم... الصلاة خير من النوم Prayer is better than sleep... Prayer is better than sleep. They know that answering Allah's call matters more than another hour in bed. Children learn far more from what we prioritise than from what we preach. You can tell your child for years that Salah is a pillar of Islam. But if they repeatedly watch Fajr get excused - because Allah is All-Forgiving, because he's tired, because the exam is today - while school remains completely non-negotiable, you have already taught them what matters more. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Command your children to pray when they become seven years old, and beat them for it when they become ten." (Sunan Abi Dawud 495) Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: "Whoever neglects to teach his child that which will benefit him, and leaves him without guidance or direction, has wronged him in the worst possible way." (Tuhfat al-Mawdud bi Ahkam al-Mawlud, 1/337) Many parents worry that waking their child for Fajr will take a toll on their exam grades. Few stop to worry that letting him sleep may slowly teach him that school deserves sacrifice, but Salah does not. One affects a few hours of his day. The other can shape the rest of his life. One day your child will leave your home. There will be no father knocking on the door. No mother pulling back the blanket. Just an alarm. And a choice. On that morning, what will make him get up? The priorities he watched you live for years. The difference between the 5 a.m. parent and the 7 a.m. parent is two hours. But those two hours, repeated hundreds of mornings, can shape a child's relationship with Salah for the rest of his life. Years from now, when your child stands alone before Allah, he won't remember how much sleep he got on a Tuesday morning before his exam. But he will remember what his parents taught him was worth waking up for. And he will hold them accountable when he sees the punishment right before his eyes. Team AMAU

  • The biggest gift you can give your loved one who has already passed away is simply to say: For a male: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَأَسْكِنْهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ Allahumma-ghfir lahu warhamhu wa askinhu fil-jannah. O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, and grant him Paradise. For a female: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهَا وَارْحَمْهَا وَأَسْكِنْهَا فِي الْجَنَّةِ Allahumma-ghfir laha warhamha wa askinha fil-jannah. O Allah, forgive her, have mercy on her, and grant her Paradise. For multiple people: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ وَأَسْكِنْهُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ Allahumma-ghfir lahum warhamhum wa askinhum fil-jannah. O Allah, forgive them, have mercy on them, and grant them Paradise. Sometimes, a sincere du'a takes only a few seconds, yet it may be one of the greatest gifts you can give to someone who has already returned to Allah.

  • O Allah, please forgive my friends and grant them Jannah. Reunite them with their family members and with all of us in the Hereafter. Ya Allah, I am eager to meet them again in the Hereafter. Please forgive them, have mercy on them, fill their graves with light, and grant them the highest ranks in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.

  • Please pray for them. 😭😭😭 I remembered them a few days ago, and last night I saw a reminder from Abu Ibraheem Hussain about death. Today, I received the news that my friends had passed away.

  • "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we will return." (Qur'an 2:156)

  • إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

  • I lost my childhood colony friends, Habiba and Asad, in a car accident. I request all of you to make dua for their forgiveness. May Allah forgive all their sins, have mercy on them, and grant them Jannah (Paradise). Ameen.
