Hama: A Beacon of Resistance, Sacrifice, and Trust in Allah

As Muslims celebrated the liberation of Hama a year ago, my heart longed to join them, yet my duty was to serve patients in the ICU.

One year ago, we prepared the operating room of Marat al-Nu’man Hospital after the Mujahideen liberated the city — enabling us to perform emergency surgeries when no other hospital in the region was functional.

One year ago, we reactivated the Emergency Room in Marat al-Nu’man — ready to accept patients within hours. As the Mujahideen advanced into Hama — into lands that hadn’t seen Sunni control in over a century! Allāhu Akbar. Alhamdulillāh for this historic victory.

One year ago, we completed the first section of our frontline hospital in Marat al-Nu’man — a vital step in returning emergency care to liberated areas.

One year ago, we reopened Marat al-Nu’man Hospital — a frontline medical post lost in 2020. As the Mujahideen advanced rapidly, we moved in and had it running in under 24 hours. From loss to liberation, this was our return.

One year ago today — we returned to Marat al-Nu’man Hospital, not in fear, but with honour. From siege and sacrifice to service and rebuilding. Victory is only from Allah.

In early 2020, thousands of families were forcibly displaced from Marat al-Numan as the regime launched a brutal assault. For years, their homes stood empty — symbols of loss and pain. But exactly one year ago, the situation changed. We stood in Marat al-Numan and witnessed the return of displaced families, finally able to go back to their homes — to rebuild, to restart, to hope again. At the same time, the Mujāhidīn were advancing rapidly toward Hama City, reigniting hope for a free and dignified future.

After the liberation of Aleppo, Saraqib, and the entire Idlib countryside — our hearts overflow with joy at returning to the beloved land of Sham.

FLASHBACK: One Year Ago Aleppo City had just been freed — and the Mujahideen were advancing rapidly southward, reaching the gates of Hama. At that momentum, it felt like only a matter of days until Damascus would be within reach. History in the making.

Exactly one year ago, after 8 long years of displacement, refugees began returning to their beloved city — Aleppo. Forced from their homes by war and oppression, they finally came back to rebuild their lives and reclaim their future. Alhamdulillah.
