Aqeedah Series Q.5. What is Ihsan(Perfection/Excellence) in worship? Ans. Ihsan is to be aware of Allah the Almighty in worship. Fudayl ibn ‘Iyaad (May Allaah have mercy upon him) said: “By the measure of how small a sin is considered to you, such is its magnitude with Allaah. By the measure of how enormous a sin seems to you, such is it smallness with Allaah.” - Majmu’ Ar-Rasail pg. 363

Ibn Al-Qayyim (May Allaah have mercy on him) said: “No slave of Allaah commits a sin except that a blessing from Allaah is removed from him, equal to that sin.” - Tareeq (1/271)

Forgotten Sunnah: Wake up at Night, Recite this Dhikr and seek Forgiveness: Narrated ‘Ubada bin As-Samit: The Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-said: “Whoever gets up at night and says: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَه،ُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْد،ُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ،وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ‘There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah Alone, He has no partners, He has the Dominion and for Him is all praise, and He is capable of all things, praise is for Him, and Far is Allaah from imperfection, and There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah, and Allaah is the Greatest, there is no capability nor is there any power except with Allaah. La ilaha ‘illa Allaahu wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer Subhana allaahi, wal hamdu lillaahi, wa la illaah ila Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar, La hawla wa la quwwata illa billaa Then he says : اللهمَ اغْفِرْلي O Allaah forgive me (Allaahumma aghfirlee), or he supplicates and his supplication is answered, and if he makes Wudu and prays then his prayer is accepted. [Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 21, Number 253 : Prayer at Night (Tahajjud)]

my heart is heavy because i feel we are losing the true spirit of these sacred days. ramadan is a rare gift, a quiet invitation for our souls to be set free, yet our eyes are glued to the sorrow on our screens. it feels as though the noise of the world has won, pulling our focus away from prayer and toward the fears of today’s wars, from iran to israel and beyond. we only get this chance once a year, and it makes me so sad to think we are letting the essence of this holy month slip away while we watch the world break. bint sajid

One of the most frightening punishments is when Allāh no longer corrects you. When sins don't sting. When your heart stops trembling at reminders. When wrong feels normal. When advice sounds annoying. When prayers feel like a burden, not a lifeline. That's not peace, that's spiritual abandonment. Because when Allāh stops guiding you, you're not just lost you don't even know you're lost. May Allāh never leave us to ourselves, even for a blink of an eye. آمين

Maalik ibn Deenar (rahimahullah): If you see hardness in your heart, weakness in your body, and decrease in your provision, — then know that you have spoken about that which does not concern you. [Fayd ul-Qadeer, 1/369]

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله Sheikh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli may Allaah preserve him, said: شمروا عن سواعد الجد وانشروا العلم النافع العلم السلفي الصافي والعلم القائم على الدليل في مختلف الوسائل وزاحموا أهل الأهواء والشر، Roll up the sleeves of seriousness and spread the beneficial knowledge, the pure Salafi knowledge and the knowledge based upon evidence through various means, and crowd out the people of desires and evil, فوالله إن العلم شجرة كل خير، وحاجز عن كل شر، وإن الجهل شجرة كل شر، وقائد إلى كل شر. for by Allaah, knowledge is the tree of every good and a barrier against every evil, while ignorance is the tree of every evil and a leader to every evil. قال الإمام مالك رحمه الله: (إن أقوامًا ابتغوا العبادة وأضاعوا العلم، فخرجوا على أمة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم بأسيافهم، ولو ابتغوا العلم لحجزهم عن ذلك). Imam Malik may Allaah have mercy on him, said: “Indeed, a people sought worship and neglected knowledge, so they went out against the ummah of Muhammad ﷺ with their swords, but if they had sought knowledge, it would have prevented them from that.”

Abu Hazim Salamah bin Dinar: Small things of the worldly life occupy people from good deeds that will be immensely compensated for in the Hereafter. [ابن أبي الدنيا في الزهد٢٩١]
