Check on Your Children During the Friday khuṭbah, the children play and fight with one another in the basement.  And some of the people speak during the khuṭbah, become distracted, and lose the reward of the khuṭbah, simply because of the disturbance caused by the children.  See whose children are these and, in shā' Allāh, we will speak to their fathers.  And this is a repeated advice, may Allāh bless you all.  O fathers - [this is] for all of us: every single one of us should check on his children during the lesson, prayer, khuṭbah, and lecture. Where is your son? Where is your son? Where is your child, my brother? Why are you here while you have left off your son? In the back [of the masjid] or playing with the children? This is how the disorder and disturbance is ended: The reason (for it) is that we are not concerned about our children during goodness. Well, make him listen to goodness just as you listen to it. Do you not love for your child to take part with you in this goodness? And that you attain reward through his attendance? For indeed, if he attends and sits before you, you attain from the reward of his attendance. The Most Severely Punished People on the Day of Judgement! Ash-Shaykh Abū ‘Abd al-Raḥmān Jum‘ān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله) says: “He ﷺ said "Every picture-maker will be in the Fire." "Whoever makes a picture (in this world) will be commanded to blow a soul into it, but he will not be able to do so" And he (ﷺ) cursed the picture-maker. "Who is more unjust than the one who tries to create the like of My creation? Let them create a grain, or a grain of barley." Indeed, the most severely punished people on the Day of Judgement will be those who create images. He creates it with what? With his hands. With his hands he creates images. And he makes images with his hands. "Every picture-maker will be in the Fire. For every [animate] image that he made, a soul will be made for him, and it will punish him in the Hell[fire]" It will be said to them, 'Blow a soul into it', but he will not be able to do so. "The most severely punished people on the Day of Judgment will be the picture-makers." Aḥādīth agreed upon. On the authority of ‘Ā’ishah, Ibn ‘Umar, Ibn Mas‘ūd, Abū Hurayrah. May Allāh be pleased with them. On the authority of Abū Juḥayfah in al-Bukhārī. On the authority of Ibn ‘Abbās — agreed upon. "Every picture-maker will be in the Fire." "A neck will stretch out of the Fire." Look at this one who exposed himself to the punishment of Allāh. On the Day of Judgement, a neck will emerge from the Fire, having two eyes with which it sees, and a tongue with which it speaks, and two ears with which it hears. It will say: 'I have been entrusted with three: Every obstinate oppressor, every one who called upon a deity besides Allāh, and the picture-makers. He gathers those who take pictures of things with a soul. "The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)?" [Al-Mutaffifin (83):6] And when they cross over the Ṣirāṭ, this neck snatches them, and throws them into the Fire. So O servant of Allāh, fear Allāh. Qazaʿ Is Forbidden! Our Shaykh, Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʿān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) said: This [practice of al-qaza' (shaving part of the head while leaving another part)] is found amongst some of the disbelievers. Indeed, this is not done except by the sinners and the lowly. Therefore, this falls into two prohibitions: The first prohibition is that it has been forbidden. The second prohibition is that it is an imitation of the disbelievers - an imitation of the corrupt. No, a man should leave it because this is from the characteristics of women.
