We’ve recommended Georgiy Kuleshov’s project before — and we’ve been following it ever since. So today, no lengthy intro: one of our favorite recent releases comes from our friends, and it’s one worth highlighting. The First World War through the lives of emperors and kings who knew each other personally. Nicholas II, Wilhelm II, and George V were relatives. They met, corresponded, vacationed together, calling each other “Willy,” “Nickie,” and “Georgie.” Then they found themselves leading nations into one of history’s bloodiest conflicts. • Could they have stopped the war? • Just how much control did they really have — or had events already taken over? • And how did a war that began under tsars, kaisers, and kings end up burying nearly the entire old European order?
