📘 Research Council Updates – Spring 2026 SG MRI attended Research Council meetings this spring as a Council member to represent students’ interests. Below are brief summaries of the key decisions and discussions. ➡️ Approved new project thresholds for FDCRGP, CRP, and MRP programs (2026–2028). ➡️ SG MRI raised concerns about improving graduate students’ access to instrument reservations. ➡️ Introduced updated service fee procedures and fee-exempt access for Master’s and PhD students using Research Core Facilities and HPC. ➡️ Approved hiring of foreign experts for several research projects. ➡️ Signed new MOUs with national and international partners. ➡️ Approved extensions and leadership changes for ongoing grants to support project continuity. 🔗 Read meeting summaries here @nu_mri

URGENT: Summer Dormitory Application Deadline – Monday, April 20 If you need a dormitory for our SG MRI initiated internships for your summer stay, please apply to the housing now. Instructions: Deadline: Monday, April 20. Apply Now: You must apply even though we have not yet decided who takes the internship. Do not wait for a formal confirmation. Comments Section: In your application, clearly state: "Internship decision is not yet finalized." Verification: The internship results will be out soon. We will make sure that in case you get the internship, you will be on the CAC list by April 22-23 when the housing office verifies applications. Location Note: Please keep in mind that one of the internships is offline in Almaty.
