❗️Russia cannot be defeated on the battlefield, and the current moment is decisive for the country, Putin said. The president claimed that Ukrainian forces are retreating along the entire line of contact. According to him, the West has failed to defeat Russia on the battlefield, so it is now trying to destabilize the political situation inside the country — but that is not working either. Russia has always been strong and has always won through national unity, Putin added.

❗️NATO is officially saying it will destroy Russian aviation airfields. NATO has launched a program to develop technologies for putting Russian airfields out of commission for an extended period — and is offering €250,000, about $285,000, for the solution. Among the concepts being considered are drones of various classes, loitering munitions, and swarm systems. The development requirements include resistance to electronic warfare, the ability to operate without communications or GPS, and the capability to strike multiple targets at once. The technologies are set to be demonstrated as early as September 3 of this year in Poland.

We are banning the advertising of cryptocurrencies, while still allowing organizations operating in this market to say that they are active in this market,” Aksakov said.

❗️The removal of VK apps from the App Store raises questions about the reliability of Apple’s service and how much it can be trusted, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. He also suggested that active VK users switch from Apple to Android. Russia is waiting for an explanation from Apple regarding the removal of VK apps from the App Store, Peskov said. If no such explanation is provided, Russia will need to draw conclusions about whether it should continue cooperating with the American company, he added.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the main sticking point in Russia-U.S. relations right now is the citizenship status of children born to Russian consular staff on American soil. “Believe it or not, the biggest problem we currently have in relations with the United States is this: all of a sudden, they told us that from now on, all children of employees of Russian consular offices who are born on U.S. territory will be considered American citizens. They’ll be issued the relevant documents, and they’ll be able to cross the U.S. border in either direction only with American papers, as American citizens,” Lavrov said. Lavrov added that forcing Russian diplomats’ families into a situation where their child becomes an American citizen and falls under U.S. law “simply cannot happen.”

AI data centers in America are making so much noise that residents are dragging them to court. In the city of Dowagiac, Michigan, locals are complaining about the nonstop hum coming from a Hyperscale Data facility located right next to residential homes. Residents say the noise can be heard even through closed windows. Some neighbors have already filed a lawsuit against the company, according to local outlet MLive. Meanwhile, the company is already planning to crank the site’s capacity up tenfold — from the current 30 MW to 340 MW. The location used to be used for Bitcoin mining, but now it is being developed as an artificial intelligence data center. Also in Michigan, locals are pushing back against Microsoft’s plans to build a data center worth around $1 billion.
