Are foreign nationals using New Zealand as a backdoor migration path to Australia?

Another Australian flag is going up in my street in regional NSW. Unlike the regional Australia Chris Bowen spoke of at the National Press Club last week, our village isn’t a suburb. Many of the towns and villages out here are too small to have suburbs. I’d wager Bowen thinks the outer edges of the major capitals count as regional Australia. That level of out-of-touchness is common in our political class. When Angus Taylor spoke about One Nation as a response to the Liberal Party’s failings, he argued that putting a match to the system would only drive up costs for voters. Better, he said, to back a Liberal Party that returned to its core values. The trouble is that ‘core values’ are often just a slogan. Parties claim them when convenient and abandon them when the polling shifts. In a liberal democracy, values are what people actually hold, within the law and without trampling on others. Australian farmers are being treated with utter contempt by a system of faceless bureaucrats and politicians, who care more about foreign corporations, political slogans and profit. Prime agricultural land impacted by proposed high-voltage transmission line corridors! Three months on from the publication of this video, twelve farming families have been slapped with heavy fines simply for standing at their own farm gates to protect their livelihoods. Reckless offshore wind turbines are being pushed into our waters without proper scrutiny or accountability. This green agenda is a threat to national security, defence capability and maritime safety. And no one can explain how hundreds of massive turbines won't wreck radar, aviation, emergency response systems, or our border protection. Nor has the environmental repercussions been considered. I asked Creative Australia why Aboriginal orgnisations are receiving such an out-of-proportion share of arts funding. Their own annual report shows $32.1 million in First Nations investments out of a $285.8 million funding pool - over 10%, roughly three times the proportion of Aboriginal Australians. Promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art is important and no one disputes that.  But why is it treated as more important than promoting any other form of art? Proportion matters. If it doesn't - isn't that just more divisive?

The Albanese Government has turned New Zealand into a back door for Australian citizenship. Under Labor's 2023 changes, anyone who gets NZ citizenship, even if they weren't born there, can come to Australia on a 444 visa, stay indefinitely, and become an Australia citizen after four years without ever becoming a permanent resident or passing our points test. When I pressed the department on how many people become permanent residents without passing the points test, they took the question on notice. The response is staggering. Only 29% of permanent visas granted in 2025-26 to 31 March 2026, were points-tested. That means 71% of people gaining permanent residency, and eventually citizenship, never sat the points test at all. The Minister needs to stop playing games with the numbers and start serving the Australian people. One Nation will immediately deny permanent residency and citizenship to anyone who fails the points test.

For far too long, politicians in Canberra have treated taxpayer money like a bottomless pit. A One Nation government will stop the waste and cut the endless spending. During this estimates session with the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), I asked questions regarding the scale of visa appeals they are reviewing - and it's worse than expected. Migration cases now make up 56% of the entire tribunal workload, with student visas alone accounting for 35%. The backlog is astonishing. 77,938 migration cases, 52,452 student visa cases, and 130,983 cases overall waiting for hearing. Protection visas add another 37,830, and even NDIS reviews are climbing. The tribunal admitted its receiving around 90,000 applications a year, but is only funded to finalise 60,000, meaning the backlog grows by 30,000 every year. The tribunal is drowning. Much of the fault lies with Australian universities, who aggressively market their degrees by promising students a fast track to permanent residency. This is often done through third-party brokers employed by the universities. How long will the Government let the Tribunal drown before doing its job and and fixing this mess?

More incompetence from the Albanese Labor Government. Taxpayer-funded diesel shipments are sitting idle off Australia's coast due to a lack of storage facilities, with costs reaching up to $90,000 per vessel per day. This cost will ultimately be passed onto YOU at the fuel station. The Fuel Commissioner has had 5 months to solve this problem and has failed ✖️ Successive Liberal and Labor governments have destroyed our domestic refineries and storage facilities over the decades, leaving us vulnerable. One Nation will prioritise new Australian fuel refineries from the private sector to secure our nation's fuel independence and provide for Australians.

A question I asked Minister Don Farrell back in March. From the start, One Nation oppose the UN's net zero policies and will continue to oppose. Will the Uniparty fully embrace coal, oil, and gas as being essential for modern civilisation and commit to true national self-sufficiency across our entire hydrocarbon supply chain, from drilling to the petrol pump? I doubt it!

A One Nation would take immediate action to restore our living standards, ease cost of living pressures and get our economy back on track. - Cut mass immigration. - Slash government overspending and wasteful spending. - Abolish the climate change department. Axe net zero and exit Paris. - Cut red, green, black and blue tape that is standing in the way of our sovereignty. It’s time to back Australian industries, cut unnecessary regulations and put Australians first!

At the February Senate Estimates, I raised concerns that the Australian Flag was absent from The Australia Day Council's website. I am pleased to see that it has now been restored. Our flag is a symbol of our shared values, our democracy and our monocultural society. Displaying it proudly reminds us of all that we can be united under one flag.

Right now, the top brass in the Defence Force is avoiding responsibility, and the Labor government is letting them get away with it. Why hold a Royal Commission into veteran suicide or an inquiry into honours and awards if the government is just going to ignore the findings? One Nation proudly stands with Senator Jacqui Lambie's urgent motion. We are calling on the government to hold the top brass accountable; adhere to legal and moral obligations to our ADF members; and ensure no ADF member is denied legal protections or access to justice just because they are serving overseas. It's time to end sexual discrimination and ensure every man and woman in uniform is protected under the law. It’s time to fix this problem.

We know that no new laws would've stopped the Bondi atrocity. The real issue is why ASIO, the AFP and NSW Police didn't act on the warnings they already had. I asked the Official Secretary, Ms Anne Sheehan, of the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion how a terrorist on an ASIO watchlist was still able to get a firearms licence, what surveillance was actually happening, and why critical intelligence wasn't shared. The commission confirmed these failures will be scrutinised - including whether agencies simply didn't do their job. Australians deserve a Royal Commission that delivers real answers and a safer future for everyone.

These questions are directed at the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) where I wanted to get clear answers on the scale of misconduct within our vocational education and training (VET) sector, and to find out exactly what is being done to shut down rogue Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). As of late 2025, ASQA had cancelled 16 critically non-compliant providers, issued notices of intent to cancel credentials to over 36,600 individuals, and ultimately stripped more than 30,000 people of improperly issued qualifications. We must ensure these rogue operators cannot simply close up shop and re-enter the market under a different name. At the same time, any student caught purchasing fake credentials must be deported.

No 'Welcome to Country' and no three flags. One Australia. No division. One Nation.

One Nation will cancel or refuse passports for Australian ISIS fighters under a new bill. Law abiding Aussies deserve to feel safe in their own country.

How are Australians supposed to feel safe when the Prime Minister required a 20-person security detail to visit Lakemba Mosque? Instead of answering, Labor tried to deflect and moralise. Actions speak louder than talking points.

During Estimates in May, I questioned the AFP on their treatment of Ben Roberts-Smith. While we welcome the investigation into media leaks, the AFP still refuses to explain the so-called ‘operational decision’ to arrest him on a Sydney tarmac in front of his two daughters, rather than in Brisbane. After more than a decade and hundreds of millions of dollars spent investigating alleged war crimes, the AFP has not secured a single conviction. It’s hard to reconcile that extraordinary expenditure with an outcome that has delivered nothing but reputational damage and prolonged uncertainty for one of the nation’s most decorated soldiers. The handling of this case raises serious questions about priorities, accountability, and whether such extraordinary resources have been justified by results. This government needs to ask itself why it sends Australians to war if it then spends hundreds of millions tearing them down when they come home.
